Summer whitetails

I always enjoy taking photos of whitetails in summer. They are more visible, relaxed and easier to approach than any other time of year and they look great in summer coats and velvet antlers. Here's a few shots I got in the early AM a couple of days ago.

Do you find deer much in canola fields? It sure makes for a nice background.

Zbone: Nikon D300 body, Nikon 80-400mm VR lens. jmiller: Deer and elk both love the canola in summer and will often bed down and spend the entire day in them.

Looks like the deer are doing well. I have a hunt booked near Brandon from Sept. 10-20. Can't wait!
