Has anyone on the site seen or taken a Glacier bear with either bow or gun?

yes I have .... we took a Glacier Bear quite a few years ago and we saw one three springs ago while on a Brown / Black Bear combo hunt, the hunter could have taken it but he had already tagged out on a nice Cinnamon. And one time we took a weird Cinnamon that had a grey / blue undercoat.
All took place in my guide area in the Misty Fjords ...

Guided in GMU5 (Yakutat area) years ago. Saw several up on the mountainsides. Never was able to take one myself.
True glacier bears (blue color phase of black bear) are pretty darn rare.

I've dreamed of harvesting one of them some day!! They are the coolest color phase of all I think.

We saw one in the Wind River Range about 15 years ago similar to the one in the last photo.
Kind of a light buckskin-colored body, with darker lower legs.
We thought it was a grizz at first...cool-looking bear, the first my son ever saw in the wild.
