good luck. Don't be afraid to try a fawn distress call. They are really curious especially this time of year when they are packing on the pounds.

Pat,

That sure looks like a great bear. He really tore up that corner of the cornfield ....reminds me of a Ned Greer story.....

Hope you get him Pat! It sure elevates a hunt when it becomes personal like that!

good luck

Go get him Pat. A bear that craps in your corn field like that needs to spend the winter in your freezer!

I would guess that the damage is mainly done under the cover of darkness, should be a trail too and from the feed.Get back off the field in cover as close to the dense area the trail comes from.May see him earlier.

Why would you poop in your cornfield??

Come to think of it.....why would you photograph it? I'll admit...it's a good one, likely a 1 wiper and I too would be proud, but I doubt I would post a pic.

Have fun! Plots look great! C

Hunt him where he comes from not where hes going too.Often in open ground they will wait till darkness but usually they will move too the location before and stage.his trail, should be easy to see as hes heavy.Every track he steps there will be an indent in the ground,he will step in the same print everytime he approaches the area--find this trail and sit it.

Big bears are all about personal comfort.Theey always have a route or trail that has prooven safe for them. Thus they will travel that same trail everytime till it is not secure anymore. They also have a daytime safe area they bed in usually its the densist cover near where the trail disolves or disapears.near this spot you will see that bear in daylight.Only that one bear uses that trail with the individual prints.Well worn trails usually are sub adults and cubs.

Set out a pic-i-nick basket near your stand. I hear NY bears love 'em.

Very cool Pat. First time I remember seeing a non deer hunting live hunt. Exciting to be seeing that much bear action. Hope it works out for you!

Wow, that's cool they're on your property.

That would be a major accomplishment.
