Just curious what arrow/broadhead/fletching combo everyone has used for there successful hunts this year (or past years). Also-Pics, shot placement, penetration, yardage....... Details welcome!

Please do NOT turn this into a debate on fixed vs mechs. Just would like to see how different combos did in the field and what the results were.

Carbon xpress maxima red 250's with slick trick 125gr magnum bh and 2in blazer vanes put on with the bohning helix fletch jig. I shot this cow at 25 yrds broadside. Made dead center contact with a rib but it busted it in half no prob, went all the way through to the other side but didn't quite make an exit hole. She only made it 20 yrds. I shoot a bear mauler at 68lb draw weight with a 26in draw length. Shot this same setup last year with a complete pass through at 20 yrds on a small bull.

Gold Tip .250, Magnus buzz cut 150, 100 grain insert. 569 grains with 3 blazers 19% FOC. PSE Vendetta, set at 70# 26" draw. Used the same Buzz cut on my Pronghorn this year 2 weeks before.

43 yd shot, went about 35 yds stopped walked another 10-15 and fell over. Shot placement on the elk 1/4 away or more, went through the top of the gut, liver, lung, cut above the heart and into the throat. Arrow was up to the fletching in the chest cavity. Same shot on my elk last year, Pronghorn this year its proving to be effective. However, i still would like a broadside shot. The broad head bent a little because it hit a rib in the front of the chest cavity ill just send it back and get a new one. I did not take a pic of the arrow.

100 grain G-5 montec - complete pass through on moose earlier this year and this elk on Sept. 14. Cabela's shafts and 3 inch fletching. Been using inexpensive shafts and G-5 for years with many kills. To me, it's more about the broadhead than the shaft. I cut and fletch myself. 24 yard shot, ran about 75 -100 yds. Lung, Liver. PSE Bowmadness set at 60 pounds.

Bull went 300yds, very little blood. I suspect he only traveled that far trying to keep up with his cows.

I'll break the ice with a little kill. It was big deal to me, anyway. 50 yard shot, 40 yard track.

Slicktrick 125 magnum on 29 inch gold tip 75/95s, 3 short Blazers with as much helical as would stick. 410 ish grains, I guess.

Shot out of a PSE Diablo set at 65 lbs. No idea about energy or fps, but they fly pretty quick, and most importantly broadhead or target tip, they always stick right where the pin is when the fling goes off.

Had a complete pass through on this little guy, and the arrow was laying on a shrubbery right behind where the deer had been standing. I don't think he even knew he'd been hit. He was standing next to a big four point (this was in a 2 point only hunt, &@$# it!) and when I shot they both hopped off pretty calmly. The four point came out from behind some trees and this guy didn't. I kinda felt bad, because the four point stopped and kept looking over his shoulder for his buddy to hurry up and catch up for a while.

There was immediate blood at the hit, and two distinct dribble trails through the rocks the entirety of the short blood trail. This setup is pretty awesome for deer. Sure wish I was smart enough to see what it would do to an elk.

9/14 my biggest doe ever. 23 yard sliced the heart with one of my 3 blade VPA heads. 100gr vented. GT 5575 XT Hunter shaft 4 " helical feathers. Total weight with BH 365gr. I have just personally not had luck with blazers/fixed compared to my old 4" feathers? Specifically 125gr g-5 montec w/400 gold tip. I shoot a 10 yr old 34" archery research. That's one reason I started the thread, plus I like to see what puts em on the ground not just what shoots the accurately the farthest.

My backup bow, Oregon Deschutes 60#, Victory Vap 350, four fletch blazers, 150 grain Slick Trick xbow heads for more FOC, total arrow weight 469 grains. 37 yard shot tight behind left shoulder. Not a complete passthrough, broadhead lodged near opposite leg. Arrow snapped in half on bulls departure. Bull ran 45-50 yards, stopped, then couldn't get going again. No bloodtrail, arrow entry was from upslope, but didn't need bloodtrail.

Shot this 5pt at 58 yards. Bow is a Hoyt Maxxis 35 set at 60 lbs, draw length 29", arrows are maxima reds, 100g shuttle t's. Arrow entered just catching the edge of the back of the shoulder blade, and buried into the off side shoulder. Bull traveled 60 yards before expiring. Bull only went 10 yards or so, before his back end started trying to pass his front end. Second bull with the shuttle t's. Both traveled about the same distance with very good blood trails, short as well.
