Son's first deer!
Whitetail Deer

I received a call last night from my 14 year old son who proceeded to tell me he just arrowed his first deer. I am away on business for a few days. The little guy didn't want to wait until I returned, so he headed out to the farm to not miss a Sunday afternoon hunt.
After we spoke, he then took up the blood trail and found his buck.
I am really proud of him for getting it done all on his own.
Congratulations . . . great job!
Michael
I am a very proud father that he was able to take this 3x4 buck and do what he has been taught, all by himself. Even though I wasn't there physically, I feel as though we were there together in a different way.
Fantastic... CONGRATULATIONS on your son's DIY hunt!!!

Great job....Way to get the job done!
Awesome! I like that he even found it on his own..... Looks like he's well on his way! Love it when a kid has enough passion to go it alone. I'm sure this will be the first of many for him.
Proud of you and your son, keep raising him right.
Awesome! Way younger than when I got my first buck!
Thats awesome! I would be proud too!!
He really appreciated all the kind words. When he read this link, he said "the people on Bowsite are really nice". I would have to agree.
Here is a photo of him on my Utah elk hunt from September. I've now learned the additional benefits of taking a strong young teen along elk hunting. (They like to carry your backpack and don't even break a sweat).
Thanks again for all the kind words.
That's Awesome!! Way to go! I'm sure it was a great moment for you both!!
Very impressive. I know some adults that could not have completed the job as well as your son did. Congrats young man
You've done a great job with that boy, Adam.

Great & congratulations. I received a similar call from my G-son (15) that lives 3 hrs. away from his tree a couple weeks ago stating G-Pa, I just shot a Buck like a Min. ago & I'm shakin. I can relate to your feeling at that moment for sure. Again, a big congratulations to your son & to you for teaching him about the outdoors..
Great job to your son! He must of had a great teacher. Thanks for sharing his experience with us. This has been the most refreshing read on bowsite in quite some time. All the best....
Blaine really has loved checking in on this thread! The kindness the both of us have been reading is overwhelming.
Blaine thinks it's crazy that I have hunted deer with a bow every year since 1983 and have yet to get a "good one!" I hunted the first 15 years with one of the many recurves I own and then switched to the compound around 1998 or so and did nonbetter. Maybe Blaine will show me the way to my dream! At least he will show me how to do it.
I hope many of the whitetail hunters on here enjoy the next month.
Good luck to all.
Such a nice story. Hope Blaine has many more "cool" experiences with bow in hand. Congats to both of you.
