Got to the area I have had doe activity in the am in hopes that i have a couple young bucks in behind them, but not much action. I did get a great setup now to my newly aquired climber. got it set in a nice big oak about 20-25 off the ground and great back cover with 2 pines to my backside and a fence that makes for a great funnel along a nice trail junction of three game trails. Tree girth was a bit too big at the base, so getting my climber situated took some work, but once I got it It was just fine at the top.
Only downside to the location is its pretty close to the logging road, but since I will only be hunting this area weekdays in the am I think I should be fine, just one trail runner this am and no one on Tuesday morning.
Since I won't be hunting this spot till next week, decided to make some mock scrapes and will refresh them as I hunt it. and see if I can get the interest of a nearby buck that might be interested in this Doe pair that I have been seeing.
Anyone have experience with a Doe/yearling pairing and their receptiveness to bucks? I guess a buck will pursue whomever he feels, but just curious if anyone has seen them on a doe/fawn pair. or am I wasting my time with them.
Happy Hunting this weekend. Ill be back out this pm for an afterwork quicky before trick or treating with my little guy.
