McMansion Hunt yields decent buck

So my neighbor convinced me yesterday to do an hour drive away from my local hunting comfort zone, and into a very upscale country suburb that allows hunting. Actually hunting the property of a retired pro hockey player. He put me in the best stand, and it was refreshing to hunt stupid deer for once. Double-lunged this guy at 8 yards, but had a casualty. My VPA 100gr non-vented buried so deep into a white oak all I could do was unscrew it and save the arrow. Could not even see the back of the blades. Seems like a lot of wasted energy to spare, out of a 365gr total weighted arrow! I do like fact that I switched back to feathers after years of blazers. Not only does it seem to further stabilize arrow flight but also zips through deer with less resistance

That VPA on a light arrow zipping through like that must be a fluke. Congrats on the deer, looks like good shot placement.

Shot was easy, aimed a little high cuz I was 20 feet above at 8 yards, very slight qtr away leg slightly forward so exit the armpit... When you hear that giant sucking sound when they run, you know it's a short track...
