Added weight and arrow shows stiff ???

Friend of mine is changing from a 100 gr. mechanical head to a 150 gr. Stinger. The shaft is a GT Nugent 5575 pulling 75 @ 29.5" with 28.5" shaft.
The arrow with 50 more grains up front is now hitting way left at 25 yards.
I am familiar with more up front weight only causing a weaker shaft with traditional bows. Is there something with a compound that is different when tuning a shaft.
Thanks.
I thought left ment weak spine. A 5575 shaft is basically a 400 spine shaft. I think he is under spined with that much weight up front and pulling 75 pounds.
He's definitely under spined. He'll either have to move up to a stiffer shaft or shoot a lighter broadhead.
I would paper tune to see what the shaft is doing out of the bow. Just because he is now hitting left could be a number of things.
All spine charts would say weak, and with a compound its way better to be stiff....
Ok. Thanks. That is what I thought had to be the issue. It just seemed to fly much more eradic, when weak, compared to a much slower arrow from a trad bow. I guess a weak arrow at ungodly speeds will fly pretty crazy.
Thanks
Gonna try a 4 inch footing to see if it will stiffen it back to the middle.
Defiantly to weak.
To stiff would shoot to right - get a 340 spine or a 300 spine with that set up and it will shoot darts.
if you are shooting a release and your bow is tuned it is near impossible to over spine.
I thin the footing will also add more weight, perhaps defeating the purpose of attempting to stiffen the ol' shaft!

Way underspined. I wouldn't even mess with 340, go right to a 300 equivalent.
If he wanted to shoot heavier arrows I have no idea why the 400 shaft? Trying to squeeze into a 400 is usually done by folks that are trying to go light to get every fps they can. Maybe 400 if he was shooting 60 lbs with a 100 head.
At 28.5", a 150 head and 75 lbs, still be weak with a 340 IMO..... I think a 125 head would be borderline with 340 out of that rig.
If you add weight to the back end(nock end) of the arrow, it will stiffen the spine. One could buy the 20 gr. nock adapters from 3 Rivers or Black Widow and perhaps add a 20 gr. brass weight, and bring the shaft back to adequate stiffness for the compound. This would take some playing with and tuning for the perfect weight combination at the rear. Just be aware that it takes far less weight at the rear than at the tip to affect spine.
Wow, I shoot 60@29 and have to shoot 340 spined arrows to start with. With 400's and a 125gr head, there is no consistency, I would have fliers all the time. at
[email protected], go to a 300 spined shaft. I actually shoot 300 spined shafts with 175gr head plus a 50 gr insert up front, deadly setup and flies like a dream.
Like stated way under spined for that draw and poundage.
it's a miracle that arrow didn't bend around and smack him upside the head with spine that weak!
Thanks alot for all the information and suggestions.
I would ask if he's right handed or left and then I could figure out if it was stiff or weak.
