Whisker Biscuit

Years ago I shot a biscuit and liked it. I wanted to try it on my new No Cam so I put the medium size biscuit on the bow. I'm shooting Carbon Express 250 arrows. I noticed there was daylight between the shaft and the edge of the biscuit. It looked like the space was adequate based on what I saw on their website. Well I couldn't shoot a 12" group at 20 yards. I'd shoot right then left.
In desperation I put a Rip Cord on the bow. My problems went away. My groups were back.
My question do you think a large size biscuit insert would cure the problem. I hate to buy one and have the same problems.
It probably just wasn't in the correct possition yet. The WB is a great rest, but one ofthe hardest rests to tune initially. There is only one exact location for each bow/shooter and the WB gives false readings for rest movement.
I believe you had the correct hole size. Just not finished tuning it yet.
60X Strings's Link
That should be the correct hole size. Did you paper tune the bow prior to trying to group with it?
Yes it was paper tuned. Shot well at close distances. I took it to a friend who works for a bow shop, he can't figure it out either. Sure wish I could find the problem. It's probably the guy behind the bow, but yet it groups well with the Rip Cord for me.
Not enough follow-through?
Interesting. I took off my dropaway Ripcord rest which was shoot very well, and yes paper tuned ok.
Replaced it with my old medium hole WB, 400 gold tips small dia shafts, re-paper tuned and it is also shooting good groups.
I did have to readjust the WB for fetching clearness of cable and center shot against inside of riser..
My best, Paul
For me final tune with biscuit is watching arrow flight in air. Bad for form but great to fine tune the shot. Follow through must be rock solid or going to get erratic arrow flight.
I switched to a WB... and it will stay on my bows until i die...The most worry free piece of equipment i have.. I can pull my grouped arrows out with one hand at the same pull..Tight enough to hit kill zone on all animals i hunt...hit paper plate with broadheads at 100yds...And No I dont shoot at game from 100 Yds....Let me clarify before im crucified..and never have to worry about arrow dropping off, clanking from target panic on any animal....Even a pesky Squirrel....lol.....Its like an EASY BUTTON.....IMO
I think I have grip and follow through inconsistencies, I'll work on it. Thanks.
Keef, Are you using a large (ie..4") vane with hard helical by chance? Trying to help:)
Mark
Mark, might be that. I shoot a 4 in vane but only a slight helical with no issue.
My biscuit has seen some wear and where the vanes go through the bristles, they have been "softened". The brown part that supports the shaft is still solid.
No doubt, a tight grip might also be an issue with arrow flight and then inconsistent placement.
Not sure if shooting rt and then left at 20 yards is the rest.
By best < Paul
Paul/Keef, the WB has historically been pretty bullet proof. I have a November 2016 Bighorn hunt in Canmore and have been legitimately considering going back to a WB in light of snow, ice and icing concerns. I used to shoot through one no problem all winter long in MN...
Mark
Mark/Paul, I shoot 2" Blazers. I think it's me and not the biscuit. I'll work on my grip and give the biscuit a try later this year. The No Cam bow grip is new to me so I think it will take some getting used to and then we'll see what happens.
I recently got one and was ready to trash it the first week and gave up. I decided to try again and lowered my poundage and it shot great. I use a small hole and shoot Easton Axis 340s with 4" vanes and more helical than I would like but only have a helical clamp for my Bitz, I even shot GT Warriors which are pretty much the 5575s and they shot great even thought it looked tight. Only thing I notice is the sound of the vanes going through the rest, I think because of the helical, shoots great though. Love it now.
