I thought you guys might like this short film I made about why I hunt...not to mention the fact that it has my Elite shown in it a couple times.

Nice video Hunting means so much to me. I remember eating squirrel at my grandparents house looking over at a model 12 shotgun. Biting down on the occasional shot pellet that was missed in the cleaning process.
Cutting my teeth on the much anticipated squirrel season as a teenage boy.
And shooting my first deer with a bow and showing that picture to my father as he looked with amazement.
Now killing means less. Its more about the time in the woods. The smells , the taste in the air. The sight of a red tailed hawk flying over head. Yes , it is good.
Great video with a great message! Thanks for sharing.
Darren
I really appreciate you guys not only watching it, but also taking the time to comment! It really means a lot to me and I love hearing how it resonates with fellow hunters. I have tried to show as many non-hunters as possible as well and have surprisingly had quite positive feedback from them.
Thanks again!
Great imagery and a really cool message. Thanks for sharing! Well said........
Nice job. I look forward to the next installment!
Nice video, loved the moose twin's!
Thank you very much! I hope to do some more hunting/outdoor film editing soon.
The moose twins were very fun to watch! The cow crossed the river and the twins went upstream a bit and then she came back and met up with them. Very cool experience!
Really well done! Professional looking video and a great message.
I think it will resonate with all of us.
Well done James, I would also like to see more tools for the non educated with the main focus of conserving our precious resource. thanks for sharing.
Thank you for the feedback and suggestions! I have done a lot of soul-searching as a hunter the last couple of years and definitely agree that conservation is paramount. I also agree with you that education is an important tool in developing conservationists. I will definitely try to incorporate that into future films.
The Sitka film you referenced was made by my friends at Rockhouse Motion. They consistently produce phenomenal work! Be sure to check out all of their stuff. Nick White is the trad shooter that is featured in the film. Nick is the brother of Matt White. Matt is the founder of Rockhouse Motion. Mark Seacat and others also make some great stuff for Sitka Films as well.
Thank you as always Mr. McNeill!
"Anticipation of memories"...That's it!
Great film, James.
I agree that with your talent, you could make a real impact by focusing on delivering conservation/education related messages as they apply to hunting.
Keep up the good work!
Best Wishes, Jeff
I think your on to something, keep at it you have the touch. Gerald
Thank you so much, guys! It is people like you who fuel my passion and validate the hours I put into it. It means a lot to me.
We really do have a great heritage to preserve. If we continue to collaborate together, we can definitely make a positive impact!

Tightspot quivers are the best! C
Nicely done and I am sure we have all pondered the reasons why we hunt and the great attraction for the out of doors and the wild things.
Interesting enough, hundreds of years ago there was no thought to why, except to survive.
Pondering the question now might be a product of modern society.
Keep up the good work.
My best, Paul
Nicely done! Thanks for sharing!
Mark
Thanks, guys!
Good thought, Paul! I think everything in life is pondered a lot more in today's generation. A job or career is probably the best example. People used to just show up and work for a pay check or to survive. Now, we look at it from all perspectives...wages, fulfillment, self-worth, etc.
Pondering isn't all that bad in anything as long as we don't let it get in the way of making decisions and moving forward in life. There was probably more pondering hundreds of years ago than what we may assume, it was just that people didn't have as many choices and have as much of a network/platform to vocalize it.
I love the feedback and I love thinking about this stuff! Thanks again!
Awesome video! Thanks for putting in a video what I have a hard time explaining to people. Mike
Really a great video. It sure nails the 'why I hunt' from my perspective.
I sent you a PM about use of the film.
PM's responded to. Thanks again for the feedback!
James, I and a few other CBA members, conduct a program here in Colorado, titled, Becoming a Bow Hunter. This is in response to the CPW challenge to Recruit and Retain hunters.
Phase 1 of three phases, includes the subjects of the history of conservation, game management as well as the history of bow hunting as part of the class.
Your short film topic would surely fit into the class structure to give insight and meaning to the WHY question. Primal instinct for sure for a lot of us and maybe a learned behavior for others.
My best, Paul

Thank you very much for sharing your video. I enjoyed it and found you speaking for me as well.
Sorry, for some reason the previous comment posted as one of my old screen names that I had a few years ago.
I liked that a lot! Nice work!
That is a very well put together video and I agree with you. Thanks for sharing.
