Our Alaska Bear Season
Bears
Contributors to this thread:
Thought I'd share some photos from our bear season this year.
We headed out May 2nd, due to the great weather, to place our bait.
It takes many trips to haul everything in on frame packs. Here's 100 lbs of dog food and a big bag of popcorn.
My wife found some claw marks from last season.
She helped haul bait and build the crib.
Took about 6 hours to get 450 lbs of dog food, three barrels, stand and sticks, blind, and 7 bags of popcorn out there.
It doesn't get dark up here so using a blind sure is nice for long sits!
Very small holes allow us to set the bait and only return to hunt.
Works done. Onto the next one...
The next day we headed out to set some grizzly bear baits as you can shoot them over bait in a few areas.
Long boat rides were the norm for two days straight.
Stink bait is key, this one is 25 feet up or so.
After the baits were set, my buddy asked if I wanted to try a recurve this year. I was nervous at first but decided to give it a go.
I shot every morning and evening to get comfortable at 15-20 yards.
Great stuff Nick!
You're the only guy I know that gets the chicks to come along and help on a bear baiting trip!
Looking forward to this one!
Mark
Went to check the grizzly baits because my hunting partner Tyler, who has killed two over bait says that they don't stick around very long. No hits but it's early. His were both shot mid June.
Nick the Stick. Has a nice ring to it. Congrats again. Hunt
I'll enjoy following along too. Good luck.
You going to use the recurve for grizzly?
We left the grizz baits, headed home to rest and we left for my black bear bait the next day.
When we got there it was obvious there were a pile of bears hitting the bait.
I figured they'd take a few weeks like last year but we were wrong. The first bear hit on May 2nd and there were plenty more since.
Looked to be several nice bears hitting the bait. Over 9000 pictures on the trail camera in 21 days.
The first visitors of the night was a sow and two cubs.
Great thread so far Nick...Keep'em coming...
They left after an hour or so. Around 10pm I cUght movement 50 yards behind the bait.
He was pretty cautious and surveyed the area for awhile before committing.
Finally he came in and I waited for a perfect shot.
Clean miss, thankfully not a wound but so close. I was pretty upset with myself. I didn't do anything I had been doing weeks prior in order to execute a perfect shot. I blew it.
Lucky for me he immediately came back.
This time, same as last, I waited again for a perfect shot. I let down twice because he moved and finally was able to focus. I did everything I had been taught and made the shot.
Great feeling...
We sat for 6 more hours hoping another boar would come in but only a small sow came.
The bear went 60-70 yards. Turned out to be a good one.
Aha! Congrats on the blackie! How many bears can you take in one season?
Mark
When we got home we made fresh bear backstrap and it was phenomenal...
I'll update this thread more over the next 5 weeks as we will be hunting most every chance we get.
Mark we get three black bear tags. Orion, I plan on it!
Thanks for following. There will be more!
Congrats on the black bear Nick! Nice! Is that your first recurve kill?
Good deal! Thanks for posting
Great job, congrats on your bear!
Great Thread Nick! Congats.
Hey Nick.....what gnu are you hunting? Just curious.
excellent bear Nick. great job.
Congrats on the bear and learning the recurve.
Great thread Nick. I'm headed up to Yukon Flats next week. First trip to AK. Glad to see the bears are moving.
Awesome, nice bear and thanks for sharing.
Do you hunt out of a blind for all of your sites? I'd think having a grizzly that close at eye level would really get the juices flowing. I have no grizzly experience.
Nick, nice job with the stick bow!! Good luck on the Grizz.
Rick
Good deal Nick. That is a great pic of the bear standing up.
Great smile, good looking bear and an even better dinner menu. Congrats!!!
Awesome Nick, way to go! Congrats on a great bear, hopefully we'll see a few more before the seasons out!
Very nice. ... congrats. Ed F
Nick, Be careful shooting a Stick is extremely addicting!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Congratulations! Great looking bear and a better looking backstrap…..but from my computer that meat looks a little (med.) rare. Please tell me you cooked it a little more!
Checked the meat with a meat thermometer. Pulled it out at 160.
Congratulations on a great bear and an even better post!!!
Congrats, Nick the Stick!
Congrats nick, best of luck the rest of the season!
Way to make it happen with the recurve. I sure wish I could do the same, but it just doesn't seem like I can find the time right now with all the things in my life. I'm sure everyone who tries to make the switch can say the same thing though (it's all about priorities), so kudos to you for getting it done. Waiting on the griz action...
Great thread and picts. Congrats on your bear! Looking forward to more!
Not 20b...Funny Nick. It is interesting how the bears were/are so active where you hunt and are just getting moving where ours is! must be because of how much warmer the interior areas are compared to the Kenai.
Awesome! and with the recurve!! I just started with a recurve. Lots of fun. Very jealous here!
I love it. I can't wait to see your grizz on the ground.
Grats and GL!
Beast with his bear! Congrats Mr.!!!
That's way cool. Congrats. Stick bow kills are special. Are you shooting vanes?
The picture of the arrows in the target is from the first day I shot a recurve. I was shooting my compound and picked up Tyler's recurve which he shoots vanes out of. His arrows didn't spine correctly for me but my compound arrows did.
Anyhow, I eventually was borrowed a different bow and I fletched up some arrows with feathers as vanes wouldn't work.
Thanks all for the kind responses. This thread was 1" from being a disaster and I realize that 100%. What I've learned so far is that a very small change in shot sequence can mess up the entire shot.
Thanks again.
Congrats and done with a trad bow!
A picture of the arrow a frame or two prior to the one I posted, for those that haven't seen it already.
Great picture, bear, and shot.
Congrats. Great "live hunt".
Following the results for the big bears. Too cool!
Glad to see u are having fun up north !
Congrats Nick! We've all missed at one time or another. If anyone tells you they've never missed then you are talking to a liar or a VERY new hunter.
Great bear and I'm looking forward to seeing what your wife shoots.
Very Cool Nick! Congrats!
Here is what one of our grizzly baits looks like. The blind we made is 14 yards from the bait.
Just waiting on a bear to show up. I'd guess any day now it'll happen.
Great thread so far, and congrats on the nice bear.
Great stuff Nick. Congrats!
Fun times, Nick.
But you should have let your wife shoot first!
:-)
Awesome Nick! Congrats on your first recurve kill.
Nick awesome!!! Great pics!!! Livin the dream!
Great thread.....I am really pleasantly surprised that your bear meat looks as red as it does. I prefer my steaks rare to medium rare, and if they are still that red at 160, you are good to go!!
Nick, Any pics of the blinds you made for the grizzly baits?
Really good stuff that us "down south flatlanders" cant really fathom...."MMMM, Lets see, I think I'll go set up bait sites for grizzlies today....Ha!"
Mark
Nick,
Looks like things are going well up in Fairbanks.
I am curious since I am trying to make the switch to a re curve this year. What bow and setup are you shooting? I picked up a Silver Tip. 51# at my 28 inch draw. Shooting Axis 400 trads with a 175-200 gr head. I am a little concerned about penetration on Elk this fall if I can shoot the think well enough.
Take care
Rick
Rick,
It's 55lbs at 28" and I'm shooting a 650 grain arrow. 175 grain Grizzly two blade head. It's a Bear Paws bow.
I don't know much about trad, just been doing what my buddy tells me. Lol
Nick,
congrats again on the great bear.
Out of curiosity, you say you have a black bear stand and a brown bear stand. Having never baited brown bear, do you set the baits up differently, different bait, or is it just located in a location where there are more brown bears?
Where we hunt black bears we cannot hunt grizzly bears over bait so I don't use anything rotten for bait, only sweet stuff. Not sure if it matters but we haven't had a grizz come into it yet nor did we last year down south with the same practice.
Our grizzly baits are the rankest, most disgusting and smelliest places I've ever set foot near :)
Again, not an expert, just going with what makes logical sense to me and using what I've learned from those that have done it before with success.
Congratulations Nick! Great thread, great photos, great accomplishment with the stick, great animal, and .... great helpers! :)
Best of luck with Mr. Grizz....
>>>>-------->
Nick,
Any photos of griz that you can share?
nick so how long does it take to build the reinforced masonry grizz ground blind? Or is that thread of a new bear holster a pic of you?
Nice thread. Congrats with the bear.
"most disgusting and smelliest places I've ever set foot near "
Worse than some of the places during your deployments in the Middle East?
Excellent you proved to yourself all you needed was to bare down and not break form. Beautiful the way you took us along with you. You certainly earned him and was rewarded. Many will come and go but not this one that will live in you on every hunt afterwards. This one is a part of you now.Congrats
Grizz bait looks like you're up a tree? I'd be WAY up a tree....
Congrats Nick! Nice stickbow shooting
I've been busy moving into our new home this weekend but my buddy Taylor who helped with our black bear bait went out yesterday and killed a good one. This is his second bear, proud of him.
Congrats Taylor! Nice bear. Mike
Great thread, thanks Nick. Looking forward to more.
There will be more Shrewski, I promise!
Bring it on Nick the Stick!
Mark
Nice job nick!!
You still got that shit eating grin on your face whenever you kill something!! Lol
Way to go, Tyler. Nice bear!
I'm a happy guy Caddis!
We are headed out on an awesome little adventure this weekend plus we are gonna sit my bait one night. I'll ipdate with pics once we get back. Should work out...
Happy for you Nick! I head out to the stand Friday Saturday and Sunday myself looking for my first AK bear (black). June 3, 2016 can't come quick enough!
congrats thanks for sharing.
Congrats Nick. Great thread.. Nice pics. Awesome!
This small Grizzly has been on the bait the past two nights. If he was just a few years older I'd likely try to get him but I think we can do better.
Are you using the stick bow for Grizz as well? Whole different ball game.
Good luck
Handle change: "Nickthestick" - Good one Mark.
Nick...The next time you get banned, you gotta come back as Nickthestick.
A big advantage of a stickbow is easy letdown when a shot opportunity goes away...I let down once on the bear I shot in 2012 and did not even recall that until a couple of days later
DDave
Nick do you get pics sent you, or do you have to physically check those cameras?
We go check them when we have time.
I sure am glad Nick moved to Alaska, he has enough critters up there to keep us entertained year round. Thanks for sacrificing your time to entertain us. Great thread, is Mrs. Muche hunting grizzly as well?
Prepping my bear hide now (I'm watching and having a beer. Lol)
Everything is ready for tomorrow, should be a good weekend.
Salted and ready to dry. Will send to the tannery next week.
He squared 6' 6" and had the typical (for me) skull of 17 8/16".
Damn Nice Nick!
Kota, got to give credit where credit is due.....HUNT gave Nick the name! I simply endorsed it!
Sureshot, I agree.....one of the best things that happened to all of us was Nick and Mrs Nick moving to Alaska!
Mark
Ahhhh... I can see where I've gone wrong in the past.... I used a salt shaker..... =D
Good luck this weekend, thanks for takin' us along...
Mark - I'm sure she'll be grateful to you if people begin referring to her as Mrs. Nick the Stick though.
Had a great weekend so far. Set up a new bait.
Caught a smaller Sheefish.
Lost a great pike next to the boat as he broke my leader but we landed a few more smaller ones. Can't wait to go back here for a full day of just fishing.
Saw a few bears on another bait last night but nothing we wanted to pack out. It was a slow evening for some reason but that's hunting.
Just got back from checking another bait and there was another grizzly on it last night. He's not huge by any means but we may go try and get a better look at him this evening.
For now it's nap time. Been going hard since Friday morning.
More griz photos!!! That was great!!
excellent story line and congrats on the fine bear
Jake, this is what the #6 Pope and Young bear looked like before my buddy shot him two years ago on the same bait.
Last night we had two bears around us for nearly 3 hours it seemed. We got a few good pictures.
Nick, I didn't know they made little grizzly bears?
Sometimes I'm sure it sucks being Nick. But we've been friends for about eight years, and I haven't seen one of those times, yet?
Keep the pics and captions coming, please.
This is awesome! Congrats on a great Blackie. Good luck on the Grizz. God Bless
That brown bear is shaggy and kind of .matted looking. Had it.been raining?
We think he may have swam across the river as the first picture of him he was coming from that way. Though, it may have been raining, we were 200 miles away so I'm not sure.
Wind is perfect according to the smoke coming out of the thermacells.
This Millenium tree stand is the most comfortable and safest feeling stand I've ever been in. Which is nice because we might be here for awhile.
I take that back... The wind is horrible. It's blowing the smell from our stink bucket right in my face. We didn't think this through very well. Lol
Thundering, lightening and pouring rain. Maybe after it quits we will see some bears.
Well, it's been raining off and on since 10pm. Every time it quits I get excited thinking s bear will show up and then it starts raining again. It's nice out otherwise and no wind. I think we will sit for a few more hours yet.
Hey Nick,
What do you mix with the popcorn and dog food? It looks like powder sugar.
Thanks
Yeah, that and Boarmasters stuff. We just discovered this stuff called Hog Wild. It smells incredible and it's reasonably priced. Will see how it works.
Saw lots of Grizzly tonight but no Grizzlies so far.
Nice story Nick. Really good job on that blackie with your recurve. Stick it to them!
About two hours ago we heard a bear swim the river. We heard him get out of the water on our side but he never came in.
We checked the sand bar, lots of tracks.
Exciting thread to say the least! Thanks for taking us along
Not sure how I missed this thread! Awesome stuff Nick......best of luck and keep it comming!
Quit putting that dried up horse poop in your lip! Grrrrrrrrr!
This is a bad azz thread that gets better and better.. Great, great pics and storyline... Best thread in a while IMO..
Sincerely hope a Grizz shows up.
Quit chewing if you can Nick.
Looking forward to seeing a dead Grizz.
Nick, there's lots of animals that hope you keep chewing.
There will be no bear hunting for a few days. I'll be shooting my recurve all week for practice. This weekend is my wife's birthday and we will be spending it in a blind.
For now, it's cribbage.
I never could play that game without takin' my shoes off to count....
Cigars make better wind detectors....
Checked cameras before work and we have some new bears that showed up last night.
Here's one from the bait we hunted the night before last.
Day late and a dollar short.
Pretty bear.
These two are on a new bait we set up in early May. First visitors of the spring. Looks like they were there all night long.
They'll be back.
Nice bears. Might make a plan to hunt them tonight.
Get after it! Quit slacking...It's not like you've been doing anything lately!
Nice golden color on that one. Good luck!
Ahhhh, Nick, those look like awfully big bears.
You sure you can shoot Griz, pilgrim?
"There will be no bear hunting for a few days"...
Scratch that, headed out tonight. I'll do my best to update so you can follow along should you find yourself bored WAY past your bedtime on a work night.
I'll be there...:) Stayed up WAY too late last night watching the TCU vs. Texas A&M 16 inning marathon game...If I can watch 6.5 hours of baseball, waiting for your updates will be a piece of cake.
Hell yea!! Mobile live grizz hunt! Only on bowsite. Thanks Nick
Hey Nick, when does the season for baiting brown bears end up where you are hunting?? Ours ended May 31st.
Headed out now. I can't think straight. Been a crazy day... I got promoted and that would usually be on the forefront of my excitement but it's not....
Tonight could be the most exciting sit/hunt I've ever done. Heck I'm so excited I drove to my old house instead of our new one on the way home from work.
Going to shoot a few arrows quick.
I'll update throughout the night. Thanks for following.
Congrats on TSgt. Good luck. Have you watched Pat's mountain grizzly hunt? How fast can you reload a recurve?
Loaded up and ready to head out.
Headed to our furthest bait. Few hour boat ride. Beautiful day out.
You kill me a Griz tonight. Can't wait for the photo. You are living the dream my friend. Hurry up August. Hammer time. Hunt
Congrats on the promotion! Looking forward to seeing the pic of your grizzly. Short bloodtrails brother.
Holy Crap, Nick, this is some exciting stuff.
Man, I want to be just like you when I grow up!!!!!!!!
Not enough service for pictures but we are about halfway there. Great day on the river.
My hats off to those who had to endure Mosquitos prior to the invention of a thermacell.
We just got settled in. 15 yards from the bait, in a ground blind. Wind is perfect but it needs to settle a bit.
The camera showed a new bear this morning so there are three nearby, hopefully.
Looking forward to more....!!!!
They came in around 10 pm last night. It's 9 now. Wind seems to be dying down.
If a bear comes in, it'll be close...
This is awesome Muche!!!!!!!! Good luck!!! This thread rocks like pabst blue ribbon on arizona snow!
Thermacells just kicked in. No more suck.
Wow. They both just came in. Pissed off and on crack. Tyler couldn't decide if the one in front of us was the bigger one or not. I had the rifle just in case.
He bluff charged at 6 yards and bolted. Other one came by me at 4 yards.
No shots fired. Wow.
Doubt they'll be back. We blew it.
That was ummm....nuts? Haha
One more step and I'd have shot him in the head.
That was ummm....nuts? Haha
One more step and I'd have shot him in the head.
Nick, I was stayin' up for this one.... unreal...
Guess they thought you guys were on their "kill"?
wow. and i wasn't even there..... gonna be a loooog walk out....
Skid marks 3 yards from the blind.
Well it doesn't look like they are going to come back tonight, if at all. Had we been in a tree things may have been different. Two crazy ass bears are hard to manage on the ground.
Next time.
"He bluff charged at 6 yards and bolted. Other one came by me at 4 yards."
Just reading that made my butt cheeks clench a bit.
You must have some wicked self control... Bluff charge at 6 yards... I probably would have squeezed lol.
Keep after them Nick, I'm sure you guys will connect.
You must have some wicked self control... Bluff charge at 6 yards... I probably would have squeezed lol.
Keep after them Nick, I'm sure you guys will connect.
The big one...Nick, they don't make little adult grizzly bears!
Thanks for the update. Just throw those shorts away. That stain'll never come out!
This is one classic thread. Keep it coming. By the way you got promoted to what now:)
Honestly how scared were you when they bluffed?
I am not going to lie I might have screamed like a girl.
That's insanely close!
Love this thread.
Cool thread! Keep it up, just don't get "Munched" on...
Dang, sounds like a fun night!
Very cool story. Makes living in PA seem pretty lame.
Oddly enough neither of us were afraid. In fact, for me, it all seemed to happen in slow motion and I had a clear enough mind to have my gun shouldered with my finger on the trigger.
Here's a picture I drew to better explain what happened.
These bears came running in.
That's amazing!
Maybe because I am at my computer and not there I can't imagine not pulling the trigger as she is charging.
If it was the boar would you have reacted different?
What would you do different if you could?
Love this!
One more step and I'd have shot her but she just seemed like she was about to stop and luckily she did.
Had it been the boar, Tyler would have shot him when he came by at a few yards.
As far as what we'd do differently. We had lots of time to discuss what ifs afterwards and the biggest thing was next time we will be in a tree so that we can both have our bows ready. I would have gladly shot either bear and could have had I not been on the back up gun.
We thought the boar was bigger than he was so we agreed to let Tyler have first chance, after all it's his location and all and even though I helped I knew all along that I'll get a chance too.
Live it up buddy! Congrats again on the promotion.
Thanks Nick! Appreciate the background!
Did you guys have tree stands setup of just hadn't brought them?
Seems like when I do that this always happens. Then again it's a wimpy whitetail and not something that could eat me! Haha.
We weren't sure if this new bait would pay off so we just built a blind out of deadfall and brush back in early May. The other bait has tree stands.
If more bears hit this bait we will be going up early the day we hunt to hang a few stands. Last night would have been much much different had we been in a tree. I'd have either killed a bear or emptied my quiver trying :)
Wow. You have brass stones. I would have passed out right after screaming like a sissy..
I hope your life insurance is paid up if you plan to keep you butt on the ground with grizzlies at 6 yards. Would love to see you get a great one but from a tree stand like a sane person.
Great adventure Nick!! Good luck!
Habu, while I agree, I'd also say that more Grizzlies have been taken on the ground than from a tree.
That said, we realize our odds are better from a tree so that's our plan for next time.
Just curious as to the caliber of the back up rifle. As a long time Alaskan I have seen a few brownies in southeast Alaska soak up a considerable amount of lead before they went down for good. One shot doesn't always do the job and at that distance things are going to get ugly in a hurry.
Sweet thread Nick !!! Keep after them !!
Crazy, sticking with trad gear, or using the compound as well?
375 H&H... Nice gun but kicks like a mule IMO. I've got the same gun that's for sale...
Great choice though as a back up.
I gotta say though I'm not sure how you contained yourself at such a close distance.. I'm not one to panic but I would have probably freak and shot especially on a charge at that close a distance.
You the man for not pulling the trigger.
carcus, it depends on the day honestly. I shoot each morning and evening. If I'm feeling good I'll take the recurve and if I'm off I'll take my compound. I really don't want to mess this up and confidence is key.
What's the deal? Tyler keeping the big bears for himself later?? LOL LOL. I know he has at least a pair of extra large the past couple seasons.
Enjoying the hunt, almost as much fun as being along.
Ha ha Marvin... We both want big bears but I'm much less picky than him. That said, if a bear shows up that'd he'd like to try and kill,I'll be the last one to throw a fit about it.
This spring has been incredible and the next few weeks we will hopefully see the hard work pay off.
I'm looking forward to July so I can catch up on my sleep. Lol
Here's the bear he killed last spring. He said it was a small one, when I walked up to it I was blown away.
This one was shot on the bait we hunted Sunday evening when the bear swam across the river.
6 and 4 yards- yikes! tree stand seems like a real good option A amigo. want to read about happy endings. knock em dead
Nick, as I was looking at that last pic, my 8 year old daughter walked up and said, "Is that MeatEater?"
Awesome pic and one of my all time favs.
Still following this. I might need to the verbal edition at Pike's some evening.... ;-)
Although I regret blowing the opportunity for nick (wish I had been on back up), it was a pretty exciting night. First words out of nick... "that was awesome!" Me: "dude..i'm not even shaking" We will definitely get another shot
Will you all kill a couple already so I can be jealous! :)
Who am I kidding, I'm already jealous :)
Keep it up, hope to see some griz pics soon
Just checked in for the first time Nick. great thread! Congrats on the black bear and look forward to the grizz pic soon!!
Nick. Your nuts. Are you wearing your brown undies???
Good luck to Ms Nick. Get a big one Stef. Hunt
Thanks Hunt!
Stef is practicing a bit right now and in a few hours we will be headed out.
Of course Pete has to out do me and get Stef the best present this year :)
He said she's old enough now that she needs her own. Lol
good luck on the hunt and house
Awesome present! Best gift a hunter can receive up there. Good luck to ya'll!
Nick,
Good luck on the grizzlies, and shoot straight! Exciting stuff, and I know what wired up bears are like after last week! Thanks for the hospitality too! Kurt
Go Stef!!!!!
(Where did you find her, Nick?)
Like me, you married way above yourself! :-)
Show Nick how to get it done Stef!!!
Rough night. Zero bears. Bait was still hammered though. Bad wind and dead bears near the bait likely didn't help. Try again.
Nick Muche's Link
Here's a video of my black bear that Tyler put together if you'd like to take a look.
http://www.outdoorlife.com/blogs/game-changers/traditional-bowhunting-video-first-spring-black-bear-hunt-2015?dom=odl&loc=contentwell&lnk=traditional-bowhunting-video-first-spring-black-bear-hunt-of-2015
Awesome footage. This has been a GREAT thread....but it can't end until you shoot a grizz and Steph shoots her bear...
This grizzly showed up on the same bait Tyler and I say while stefanie and I were black bear hunting. It hasn't been back since as of today.
Nick, Great hunt so far! Is Stef hunting grizzly or just blacks? Good luck
man this is classic. how much longer can you hunt them?
nick you got a satellite camera?
Can't wait to hear more news on the baits up there. Makes me sad we pulled our baits so early this year! Can't wait for next spring already and we haven't even hit fall yet!
what's the word on the street???
Been pretty quiet as of late...
Still hunting but with all the fires it seems our baits have went cold.
This picture was taken last Saturday on my black bear bait. Of course you can't shoot Grizzlies there :)
Nick the video was awesome, congrats! Mike
Awesome thread and video Nick! Ive "redistributed" it to several buddies down here in the banana belt!
5 more days...you and Stef going to be able to get out any more?
Mark
We are headed out for one last hoorah this weekend.
Last weekend the bear hunting was slow so we fished for Pike. Caught some real nice ones!
Hope you have some griz action with the time remaining! Good luck!
Me too, but I don't think it's going to happen, all this smoke sure isn't helping anything. We had a chance or two, that's all a guy can ask for. It's been a really fun season and I can't wait for next spring.
Good luck on the last outing Nick! Persistence pays....looking forward to the hero pics!
It has been one hell of a thread to follow. Good luck!
58 days and counting. Hunt
We picked up all our bear meat yesterday. Brats, breakfast sausage, hot dogs and four hams. It all looks excellent!!
Nick I really can't stand you cause I am jealous! :)
Really appreciate the thread. Well done and honestly made me feel like I was hunting with you.
Good luck in the future!
I really enjoyed this thread. Thanks for sharing it.
Looks like you had a fun spring Nick! Good luck on your fall hunts !!
Thanks everyone. We had a great spring. Something's didn't go as planned but that's hunting. Looking forward to next spring but for now it's time to get ready for August.
Thanks again for following.
If you hear some rustling by your freezer in the middle of the night, don't shoot.
What do you have planned for August? Hunt
Nick is pretty much hunting from August until January. Might just be easier to start a new thread Nick!
Kota, I think it is August until June, taking the month of July off!
New thread Nick!
Mark
Nick has two months in Alaska.
July and Hunting Season :-)
Thanks for the thread Nick.
I'll be squirrel hunting in August, and you? :-)
