I drew a Nevada Nov 6-20 Elk tag in unit 131,132, & southern 108. This will be My first an probably only elk hunt in Nevada, as I'm 62 now. If any one could help me out with any advice I could sure use it. I'm only a rookie to Nevada as my mules & I have hunted elk in several states for the last 30 years. Just needing advice about these units in general. Thank You, Wayne

Muleman, I arrowed a bull in 131 four years ago and helped my brother in law shoot his bull there in 2013. Mine scored 368 and his was around 330. Send me an email or give me a call and I'll help you out.

Robb, Right now I'm planning on taking my Mules & covering some ground 2 weeks before the opener. That could all change before I leave depending on what feedback I get from other hunters that have been there, what Game Warden & Biologist have to say, and info from Outfitters? I've never set foot in Nevada, & it's a good distance from where I live. Wayne

I'll toss you my cell number and if you are coming across I-80 you will come out of Weber Canyon and be about 10 miles from my home---

Not to jinx your travels but if ya need to overnight/pasture your mules, you are welcome to.

Good luck, Robb

Thanks Guys, I appreciate the offer Robb, It's tough sometimes finding a place to stop for the night when traveling with animals. I have to laugh when I think of some of the places I've spent the night over the years. I have a 4 horse trail with a tiny living Quarters up front. Most times I just haul 2 Mules & tack in the back an freezer, generator & other gear where the other 2 stalls are, I've even had a 4 wheeler up there on a couple hunts. You just never know what your going to need sometimes until you get there. You guys have any recommendations on what maps I should order for 131 & 132. I've got a BLM district map on the way, they said that would show me what other maps I might need? Thanks Again, Wayne

I definitely would put OnXmap Nevada on my phone/tablet and use the 'cache' option so you can use it with no WiFi/Internet on the mountain.

Good luck, Robb
