Hunt Trailer Break in Loveland,CO
Equipment
Contributors to this thread:
Parked my trailer in South Loveland at a buddies in anticipation of upcoming WY elk hunt. Find out today, someone broke in and stole my honda generator, Elite bow, 2x bow cases, My entire hunting box, all of my hunting clothes (including sitka and Mendel boots), and worst of all my hunting pack complete with binos, spotter, pistol, custom knives, elk calls etc...Cops caught one of the four guys who did it, but no equip. recovered as of yet. Guess I'm just hoping if someone in the area comes across "a good deal" on used equipment they will let Loveland PD know.
Thats a nightmare playing out right there. Hopefully, if they got one it will lead to the others and maybe recovering your stuff. Good luck.
I know so many people that this is happened to in Colorado....I will never leave my stuff on the way to to hunt. Hoping you get your equipment back and your hunt is not ruined.
I'm in the area I'll keep my eyes peeled. That's a very bad deal. Not a high crime area by any means.
I already searched craigslist today and didn't see anything. If they caught one guy they should be checking his known associates and hopefully will get your gear back.
I'm in Loveland and will keep an eye out. Sorry you had a bad experience here.
Post up if you need to borrow anything to keep the trip on track.
Work in the area and live close by will keep a lookout!
Glad they caught the Scum Bucket!! Hope you get your stuff back and soon.
Wow that hurts ! I hope u have some type of ins this can easily go over 10,grand easy . These type need to be taught a lesson and its not going to be from a judge.
Oh God that sucks man! Hope you make out! I'd offer to loan you a bow but it would be a recurve!
Hope you have RV contents insurance.
Unfortunately no Ins. only hope is they recover my stuff.....I have my main bow with me, and happened to bring rangefinder and camera with me as well. Thank you all for keeping an eye out.
post a list of items its a small world any pics
I've go an eberlestock j34 pack and a pair of leupold 10x42 acadias with bino harness I could loan you. I'm in south Denver metro area - Littleton. Let me know. Probably have other odds and ends you could borrow too. Just need it back by Sept 14-15 time frame.
I'm in KS but have an older BadLands frame pack I'm not using. I could ship it to you and when your done with it you can ship it back to me. PM me and I'll get it on its way ASAP! Good Luck!
Got some cots and camping gear you can borrow. Am in the Littleton area. We can make the hunt still happen.
Figure out who the guy is that the cops found, find out where he lives-- have Rocco and Moose visit him to help him regain his memory in helping to relocate your stuff. The punk as will eventually remember or be paranoid for quite a while.
Sorry about that, I believe a thief is at the top of the list of types of people I would like to see shot on sight.
And not that it matters, but just curious, was it a travel trailer/camper, or was it an enclosed utility trailer? I also assume it was in a good neighborhood where you would have not suspected something like this to happen.
Forgive the irrelevant questions, but I try my best to learn from other's experiences.
that is terrible
some great offers from you guys to keep him going, though!
Best of luck hooch, hope you get everything back and all the perps get nailed
That sucks. Hope you can still pull off your hunt!!
That sucks. I had my ATV that I normally take to Colorado stolen out of my driveway 2 weeks ago. I feel your pain.
Thanks guys for the offer - very kind. I don't return to CO until the 11th for my hunt. They took all of my clothes, and hunting gear, but left my camping stuff.
Sorry for what happened to you. I'm not hunting elk this year. And sure I have stuff you can borrow. Post a list or pm me if I have any I'll send. Ed
To answer one guy's question, I have a generic white enclosed trailer, nothing fancy and I didn't even wash the mold off the side so as to keep it under the radar.
More importantly, if you have lost faith in your fellow man, you need to read above. Look how many absolute strangers have offered to send me hundreds of dollars worth of gear on loan! It really is inspiring. As it is a friend of mine who owns McCrary and Sons Lawn and Landscape has offered to loan me his generator and Elberstock pack. Thank you again guys and may God Bless you.
Bowsite guys are the best. It comes from the core of ethics this group exudes. Now...go shoot a bull and make a positive out of the negative!!
Since you filed a police report, check with your Insurance Company for coverage via Home Owners Policy.
A few years back my truck was broken into and all of my gear was stolen. My Insurance Company covered my loss.
Sorry this happened to you. If the police do recover your stuff you probably won't get it back right away. Evidence. Good luck to you.
I'm sorry. I hate a thief. I strongly believe that the world would be better off to kill them once caught.
Human nature hasn't changed. It is the same now as it was. People are going to do this. It's human nature. Human nature can be tamed though. Fear is a great motivator. I say kill them ALL and this will stop. I hate a thief.
You have been offered everything you may need. But, you can add me to the list. I have Pentax, Redfield, and vortex binos, spotting scopes, bino harnesses, packs, bugle tubes, several blow calls, knives and butchering kits that are top quality, clothes, etc... PM if needed and I'll get some in the mail to you TOMORROW. Good luck and God Bless

I hope this is not your elite bow, it's in Loveland on Craigslist
That add was posted one day ago
Not it, but thanks for watching. Loss covered under home owners with huge deductible and depreciation. Replacement cost so far nearing $16K. Unbelievable when you add up the cost of all the little widgets.
That's sucks!! List what you need and sizes and between us, we'll send you what you need for the hunt. I have a bunch of gear just not sure it will be your size
Was this a enclosed box trailer? If so everyone should be warned, thieves everywhere love these and look for them! Usually they are looking for construction tools but anything of value! They know honest people lock up pricey items in them and target them! I am in the constrcution industry and this has been going on for 30 years! Most of the time a report is taken but thats it. Consider renting a storage locker instead!
