Never know till you try it, if they are viewed at the wrong angle they can spook them. So this year I bought a second Eichler elk and we will be deploying them at right angles to each other. Can't personally tell you theywork for sure with elk, but I know they work on whitetails. Couple of times I really think they would have worked well I either hadn't bothered to put them up or forgot them at home. If you have a caller behind you, they probably aren't as necessary, me hunting alone, I think they are a good idea.
