I'm fairly new to shooting a compound bow. One of the ranges I'm a member of is in the mountains. Most of the shots are either very up hill or down hill. I've been using a rangefinder and as you know, most of the shots are tweeners. I've been experimenting with which pin to use in certain situations. For instance, a 34 yard shot. I tend to hold the 30 yard pin high but sometimes hold the 40 yard pin low. I'm about of the opinion that a steep uphill shot calls for the long in held low and visa versa for a steep downhill shot.

What do you guys do for such shots? Is there any hard and fast rule? No rhyme nor reason?

I'm a bit curious.
