Acorns are plentiful! Sitting a stand that 2 does passed by last evening as my buddy saw them from his stand....hope they stroll by tonight again

Just had a spike move though and heard movement in thick brush behind me but nothing showed. Sunset in couple minutes I am done til the weekend!

My buddy shot high on a doe tonight had a little blood on arrow....I said lets go give a look and see if we can take up a blood trail....he was not very optimistic while searching for blood I spotlighted eyes and thought it was his deer it turns out it was a beagle whose leash was wrapped around a bunch of brush and his howling was faint even though he was not far from us. I got him untangled brought him home gave him water and food and called the local PD. They gave me the owners name and number and I just got home from reuniting the owner and dog. The dog whose name is hunter was missing since Sunday morning and hadn't drank or eaten since Saturday night. It was a great ending to a hunt although no deer was recovered a dogs life was saved as he would not have been found if my buddy was not hunting in the area as it is remote private property.

Will do Mike we dropped bears off at taxi last week. Dog owner was very appreciative and we're getting together next week for cup of coffee and my son can see hunter!
