I bought a dozen of these arrows. They came cut to a 29.5 with the inserts in them. Looking to cut them to a 28. I cute one and it appears that the inner shaft diameter is smaller going down the shaft toward the nock. Did something happen here, or is that the way they are made? I can't even get the H.I.T. Inserts back in the end.

Did you chamfer the inside after you cut it? Also, it would probably be easier to cut the nock end.

I did, but the nock end already has the Blazers glued on.

Is it the insert you cut thru? The inserts are recessed in the shaft.

You can not cut the shaft with the hit insert in it.

I cut it behind the insert and pulled the insert out of the piece I cut off. The whole insert is there. Nothing is in the shaft.

Could it possibly be epoxy from the last insert installation ?

If you only cut off 1.5 inches you did not cut behind the insert, cut through it unless you took it out before cutting. Then you are probably dealing with epoxy in the shaft.
