After a few years of not going north, my sons and I are going back. Has anything changed in the last 4 yrs. Do I need a passport now? we used to just show our NY drivers licence. NB is where we are going.

You need your drivers license to get into Canada, along with firearms paperwork and fees, and you need your passport to get back in the USA.

Boggs - We travel to Canada a lot for work. The card is only good for land boarders and water IE driving, walking, riding and or ports. If you fly you will need the booklet. As for the gun/weapon regs, I have no idea as I haven't hunted up there yet.

Straight Arrow - I have several employees that fall into that category. Some had driving under the influence issues and others have had minor run ins here and there. Thus far none of mine have been turned away HOWEVER my employees that have had offenses always get pulled aside for additional questioning and screening.

You've needed a passport to enter canada since June 2009.

Passport card, if you've had a DUI/DWI and some other arrest records, you need to apply for "rehabilitated" status in advance. Also if you are bringing dog(s) you'll need paperwork from a veterinarian on the animal

Get a passport, no problem. 6-GOLD. Also DUI will cost you to get in, DUI in Canada is a felony, check border with border people before you go.
