Is anyone finding any sheds yet?!
I am shed obsessed and enjoy shed pictures and the things found while searching. I have just started searching them out last week and only picked up three this far. None of these were big, so lets see the big or unique finds of fellow bowsiters!
Still another month away here in ms. I did get one buck on cam last week that had dropped one side but most here will start around the 1st 2 weeks of march.
I'll get started in early March. They hold to them quite late here in Oklahoma.
All my deer behind the house up here have their antlers still.
Had 3 little bucks at the porch yesterday looking for food. All still had antlers.
Up to 6 here so far, 4 singles and one pair. I usually dont bother looking until february but after getting some pictures of bucks that had already dropped, i elected to go looking. I've never had more than 1 or 2 before feb 1st. (central IL)
SE MN in the middle of a picked bean field.
SE MN on the field edge. This one was a pleasure to find since I knew he existed and made it through the season.
found this guy searching for my nilgai
Nogutsnostory it appears you are extremely talented at finding the left side of a deers antlers.
Six left sides this January no right sides yet!! Strange but they'll show up soon, all of our sheds got buried under 8" of fresh snow this week. So we will have to wait for a good thaw!!
Those are some solid sheds!!! I am heading out in the morning to hopefully add a few pictures of my own.
Found the first one of the year here in Manitoba January 2. Earliest I have ever found a shed.
I hunted up to the last day of Jan in CT and 95 % were still wearing head gear got about 8 different bucks the last 2 days of the season on camera.
NoGuts,
Glad to see that you starting to even things out with some right sided sheds...LOL
Ha-ha very true I was even able to match some up.
The bones belong to this buck but that is a shed next to them.
Picked up 7 yesterday...no sense showing them off after all of Noguts pics!
My son found his first shed yesterday on his own.
Cool shot. Pretty soon he'll have a collection.
Parker found this one today on the edge of a stubble field next to public land. 150" class - 5 point
Found a few in the last week.
22 this past weekend, way more still holding both sides.
Only been once so far and this is all I've found. Kinda surprised me given the ground I covered.
Went to move a camera and stumbled on these... 125" 8 pt
Found my first whitetail shed last weekend, just south of Littleton, CO
Little crippled buck (wounded right rear leg) behind the house just shed between February 19th, 08:16 AM and February 20th, at 7:37 PM... Shed both sides within 34 hours, but still haven't had a chance to search for his sheds, but will be hard to find due to size, but unique if I can find them...
He's one of those typical bad antler on opposite side of wounded rear leg...
There are some fantastic sheds so far in this!
Here is a buck I found on public this weekend and a shed in one of the food plots on the family farm.
And a few more from this year
AZ mule deer are still wearing their headgear. Saw 4 of them this AM.

Scrappy, lets see better pics of those two on top of your pile!
Here you go Hawk, these are the top three this year so far. The big single has a 26.5 inch main beam.
I have found nice so far.
Boone, may I ask what nice looks like?
Oops, that should have said nine so far!
Here are a couple, just need him to drop them in the back yard where the picture was taken.

Found a good one yesterday. I almost killed him the last week of season, but he's going to be pretty special this year!
5575 - Yeah, pretty rack, great find... Yeah, guessing he'll be a dandy next season...
Curious, does the other side match as a 6x?
Most of the deer and elk are still holding here in Colorado but I was able to stumble onto this one.
Zbone yes its actually a better side even "brow and G5 are longer" and he's got a good frame as well. Fall can't come soon enough.
Wow, cool, dandy, good luck...
5575---That is a stud of a deer. Which state?
It's amazing how many bucks some of you guys still have in the woods after season. Wish I could say the same about my area.
72" side, i had several trailcam pictures and encounters but holding his shed made him seem so much better.
I can't speak for everyone, but I think most keep for their collection. Finding a shed off a target buck is a great feeling. Not many true hunters would give that up. Any horn you find is a real trophy! Awesome find 4x4, I know you were pumped
I give mine to kids who have shown an interest in the outdoors. If it's a big one, I keep it. Never really thought about putting a price tag on them.
I donate some to a pit bull dog rescue. They love seeing me come with a box of antlers. We got Dennis from them last june.
That's awesome Scrappy. Nice looking dog. My Pit loves antlers also. This is her with her first ever find two years ago.
Massbucks awesome looking pup. Here's Dennis a couple weeks ago trying to get the deer in the back yard to play with him. Poor guy, they just ignore him.
Hi all, I am going on a family vacation to Phoenix, AZ in a couple weeks. I would like to take the kids shed hunting for a day. Does anybody have any experience or suggestions for that area?
Fishing was slow so went for a walk. Glad I did.
I snagged six more Saturday. Should of been at least a dozen more but still haven't found a way to talk them into giving them up while they are still attached to their heads.
I've been having a good year so far. 48 total this year.
I found these on Saturday. Bittersweet finding skulls of bucks that you passed up for next year.
I hear you on the bittersweet part. Was out moving a treestand when I found this one.
Last year in Michigan 4-25-15??
I was out for a while yesterday, looking for sheds and checking for fresh turkey sign. I did not find either. I did see a very large mature buck, very nice rack, still attached. There was another nice buck with him. I am in Fremont County, Colorado.
I pulled one card and still had fair sized bucks on 3-26 carrying both sides. One small buck with one missing.
Have some still carrying both sides yet here too.
A nice 8-point ran across the highway in front of me yesterday morning while I was headed to work.... April 4th and still carrying full headgear.
First matching set I've found, as they lay. Lot's of pics of this buck, looking forward to seeing him grow.
Found while looking for my bird in nebraska
Sheds, that's a great day!
Did come across this guy too
Wow Butcher, finding a spike, that's pretty good... Good eye...
Found about an 8" spike shed with a little nubbin making it kind of a forky, but it was in my short grass yard after the buck had jumped a small ditch crossing the road... Would have never found it in the woods...
BTW, anyone ever find a button shed? Know a couple deer farmers and they have never been able to find one of theirs even inside the enclosures...
Im at 20 for the year. Heres some of my nicer ones.
Still trying to find this one. Passed on him a half dozen times and now he just disappeared. Had pics of him after rifle season.
Believed to be a early shedder, early bloomer...
