Well I finally got to shoot the halon 7 and the htx no cam. I had been waiting for a long time to try one. I was able to spend several hours shooting both bows. Both are good accurate shooters. I thought the halon was a tad smoother than the nocam. Once the excitement wore off and I could settle down and do what I came for this is what I found. I shoot a Z7, 60# and 28.5 draw length. The halon was set at 55# 28.5 DL. I found that due to the speed bumps on the string the peep sight could not go up far enough for me. It ran into the serving. The serving on the string (this was a new bow) was already fraying by the top cam.?? On the HTX nocam I found that the string comes off really close to the top wheel. In fact Mathews had put a plastic sleeve on the string to keep it from rubbing on the wheel. I was all set to place an order for one or the other but didn't. I'm not a bow expert by any means but these issues stopped me. Any of ya'll that have shot these two bows noticed this? Like I stated they both shot great but....

The plastic sleeve wont cause you any trouble. I had a no cam all of last year as did my buddy and no issues, but I understand the concern. Its honestly a non issue though.
The peep I do understand as well as if you have a low anchor this can be an issue. Mine "just" made it on my Halon 6-I havent shot the 7 yet.
Both are great shooters. The only bow Ive shot that is as smooth as the Halon 6 is the Bowtech Prodigy. I have shot/owned the elites, obsession, and hoyts this year.
Give the Prodigy a go if you can. UNBELIEVABLY smooth. Regarding the halon...I agree-the Halon felt smoother than the no cam to me but both are great bows. I own a prodigy and a halon 6 at this time.
