Just to know what we are shooting for on this thread:
in 2011 we had 126
in 2012 we had 158
in 2013 we had 131
in 2014 we had 136
in 2015 we had 204
Only counting different bears, not mulitple photos of same animal. We have been counting bears taken with any weapon. Black, brown, grizzly, or polar.....they all count.
OUTFITTERS ARE WELCOME TO COME ON AND POST PHOTOS OF ALL THE BEARS KILLED IN THIER CAMPS AND WE WILL COUNT THOSE.
Let's get 210 by the time they head to den late in the fall of the 2016 season !!!!!!!
Good luck to all the bear hunters...
Season doesn't open until May 15th here.
It was a relatively mild winter but now it doesn't want to quit... lots of snow yet.
Good luck to all. Hope some giants hit the ground!
Here's one from Another thread. Taken with jake jefferson as the guide on kodiak.
It's snowing here again this morning.
The Bear on Prince of Wales are out ....
I leave for Whale Pass, Prince of Wales Island in the morning. It will take Lisa and me 4 days to get to the cabin. Maybe this year will be the year I kill a 21 inch bear. Been trying for over 20 years.
Good luck in your quest Bob. Yesterday the Bears were out. Today blowing storm force and raining very hard, flooding all around on the verge of slides.
No rubbed Bears sighted yet and the one we got (pic) was 19 1/2 and stalked 2 larger ... one was an absolute giant.
Congrats guys and good luck Bob!
Good hunting everyone stay safe, a couple dandys already on here.
Good luck everyone! Was hoping to sit a bait yesterday evening but it's still a bit early up here. Hopefully next weekend.
Good luck and safe travels everyone!!!!!

Sighted 18 Bear yesterday from the skiff ... beach hunting.
In this tide flat there were 7 out at once & we got to see a nice fight.
Still stalking ....
First bear of 2016. Northwest BC, DIWF [do it with friends] Three of us headed out with five black bear tags and three grizzly tags. We ran arrows through five blacks bears and saw five grizzlies but no shooter or shootable ones. we will go back out in about two weeks when the grizzlies are rutting hard and moving more.
Bear number two. I'm hoping this skull will go over the magic twenty inches.

AMBUSH AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
After lots of sightings and stalks everyday, Marcus took one ... a great hunt
Skull is 19 2/16 ...

My wife and I with a couple of Manitoba bears. This was our first bear hunt. We should of held out for bigger bears.
Your first bear hunt? You & your wife did REAL well. Great picture and congrats!
Very cool, congrats everyone! Nice color phase....
Very Happy with my first Bear. Taken at 13 yards with my Hoyt Spyder, Beman Arrows, & Rage Hypodermic!
About 6 hours into my first bear hunt ever I killed this bear spot and stalk hunting in Montana.
My baits produced their first victim this past weekend. Took a good buddy for his first bow hunt ever and he capitalized on a beautiful 8' brown bear. I gave him a hard time because I like many others had to cut my teeth on whitetail does!
May 11th, Southeast Alaska
I can't decide which photo I like best.
shot this one Monday...not the biggest in the bunch, but good meat and will make a great rug!
Great bear Stafford! Trevor, your buddy must be super excited, awesome!
Harvested a very nice bear in NB with Lloyd. We all shot very good bears, he run a great camp.
My son Casey and his Bear. Hunted with Chris at Pine Acres Bear Camp Ontario. Great bear taken at 45 yards with his 45-70 Marlin.
For the count... 20" old warrior..3 out of 4 canines snapped off at or just above the gum line. Most all teeth rotten or worn down to gums. They sent in a tooth to age but most agreed this old guy was probably over 20 years old. Hope the info comes back. He had also escaped a wolf snare at some point as he had a bare ring around his neck completely devoid of hair. Local trapper mentioned he had a bear in one of his snares last year...Incredible old fellow!!
This is my daughters 18" and first bear...quite a nice ice breaker!! We took 4 additional bears last week in our camp.
Joe Mudd from Maryland with a 7 foot, just shy of 20" skull boar. Mike's Outfitting in Alberta.
Chris Peccia from Montana with an Alberta bear. Mike's Outfitting. 20 inch head. 7 ft 3 in hide.

Great Bears guys....
Congrats Todd, and great bear! Maybe next time.
Thanks Dave Still need a color bear so I'll be back.
This guy was taken in Saskatchewan at what we call Crazy Bait. Some pretty crazy things have happened at this spot over the past 15 years!
My 13-year -old daughter's first bear. Hunting in Quebec.
Congrats to all, hope to add a photo tomorrow, 3 of us are hunting, gunna try my first morning hunt which could turn into an all day depending on movement
Gun Hunt warning, but please read.
Cool story time! My bear hunting buddy has a brother n law who is dying with cancer. The b-n-l owned this 500 S&W hand cannon and always wanted to shoot a bear with it. He is now on hospice. So my buddy purchased the gun from b-n-l and told me he wants to shoot a bear on our bait with it before b-n-l passed away. That my friends is what a 500 S&W hole in the top of a well earned bear head looks like. Proud to play a small part in getting this done. I hope b-n-l gets the pictures soon!
44 and counting.
Let's get some outfitters adding client photos when they have a chance.
Got it done finally! Shot at 10:50 in the am!
Way to go Jason. Great bear. Nice thing about shooting them in the morning is it gives you a whole afternoon and evening to get him out and cleaned up! 8~) Congrats on your bear.
My hunting partner shot his the other day, Just passing through, not gonna pass him up.
I haven't sat yet, gonna get out soon
Lone Wolf Camps, 19 3/4". Killed him on 5/16. We killed 4 that week but I'll let TSOV add the others.
For the first time in a long time I actually got a couple days to hunt between my south camp ending and north one starting. Got lucky and this one rolled in, shot him a few minutes later. Shot looked great and crashing stopped quickly but opted to leave him over night, had forgot my pepper spray and slingshot in truck and a few other grumpy bears cruising around.
Found him 40 yards away where I heard the crashing stop. My taxidermist pal Kent Ringheim came to help with skinning for life size, woulda been a tough job solo. 82 inches nose to base of tail, 6" front pad, girth was 57"(skinned)His skull stretched calipers to 21 10/16. Perfect hide, not a mark or scar on him, real pretty boy Flloyd. Congrats to all successful hunters and guides, bear hunting rocks!
This rare day pic taken on May 5 at 4 AM. Tried some morning hunts over the seasons, never worked, he was a wily bear. Lots of elk hunting pressure where he was living, I asked that crew if they ever saw him; nope, nor did the local farmers living a mile from where I shot him. Likely had a big range, often went 4-8 days between bait hits and never at a consistent time of night.
Sorry last pic posted huge by mistake. I think women are easier to figure out than computers!
Posting for Carnage2011
Bear Track -June 2
Bear Track - June 1st. 7 ft square, 19"
Awesome bear Rob. Congrats! Good to see you showing the excitement on your face!
Bear Addiction Outfitters New Brunswick
Congrats Carcus, great bear!
Hey Rob, that is a holy crap kinda bear! 57 inch skinned out girth, and 6 ft 10 inch nose to base of tail!! Are you kidding me?! That bear had to be well over 500 lbs??. (For reference we killed a 450 pounder with a UNskinned 54 inch chest girth.) I'd call you a liar with the 6 inch pad but then I've never seen a bear that big. haha
That thing is like killing a 250 score whitetail and with a longbow! Big Congrats, wow.
Hi Mike; Thanks, yeah he is a fatty in fact he looked kinda short he is so thick. My pal has mounted some true giants over the last 20 years including the provincial record but he was in awe at this one. He was shocked by the girth measurement. Woulda been a huge hassle to get him out but it would have been cool to weigh him. We were more concerned with getting the hide off him in good shape - absolutely outstanding fur. The two of us had a real tough time moving him about 5 feet for photos to get him out of the blood where he fell. I have weighed some 450+ and this one was definitely bigger, me and my taxi bud called him an honest 475 and and would not be shocked if he was 500+. Have never seen legs and forearms even close to as massive as this bruiser. I got one picture of him in the Fall when he happened to walk by a trail cam I had out for deer, he looked like a hippo!
Shawn Savant in Alberta with Mike's Outfitting,
Dena Corry from Utah hunting with Mike's Outfitting in Alberta, !8 1/2 inch skull 285 lbs.
Mark Corry with Mike's Outfitting in Alberta.
Congrats Rob! Western bears are where it's at! Continued success!
Rob - WOW congrats, what an absolute specimen!! Love to see some pics of that hippo after Kent gets it mounted.
Thanks guys, pure dumb luck that he showed up in daylight, was almost stricly nocturnal and highly sporadic in his visits for 3 years. I gotta admit I was feeling the pressure to deliver an accurate arrow. Kinda sad to see him go, was always like Christmas when checking that Cuddeback!
Wicked bear Rob, once in a lifetime! Congrats
Daughters boyfriend, our first bear hunting trip was a great time. It rained for six days but we stuck it out. All day sits it seemed like the bears would move just before or after the rain. This was shot during the rain. 19 2/16 green. Ontario
Looking like a down year for Bowsite numbers?
Sovereign Adventures Lone Wolf Camps 18.5" P&Y
60 now SteveB and we were at 84 at this point last year.
I think the difference is we don't have some of the outfitters posting here like in the past. They are running their own separate threads. If those photos get moved over, like many did last year after the season ended, we'd be on par or better it looks like.

3 guys at camp still hunting and one more from past week i need a pic of!! The rest are on :)
Congrats all, some outstanding bears on this thread.
there all outstanding! my ? is how do you know the score down to the 1/8 with all the hide and meat still on the bone and not dryed the 60 days that are required ...just wondering MikeC
Mr.C, these are green scores and probably taken without cleaning the meat off the skull (just my guess). For official score they would need to be boiled or beetle cleaned then dried for 60 day after the cleaning is complete/ then the measurements would be taken to nearest 1/16".
My color phase I shot in 2014 green scored 20 3/8; after 90 days the official final score was 20 1/16.
Sovereign Adventures -Lone Wolf Camps P&Y color phase bear....score will come later when they clean head up! Update ---19.1"
MrC this is what they get it down to Green score the skulls in camp....there is no meat or hide left
Ok....I'm gonna go out on a limb here....Friday night I'm gonna shoot this one... just thought I'd put out some positive ju ju. ...
Good Luck Shug!!!!!
Wish I was bear hunting!!

Finally back from a week of hunting Interior Alaska. Couldn't seal the deal on a brown bear, but brought home two nice boars anyway. First chocolate blackie and a nice pumpkin headed beast (about as big as they get over in that river drain I'm told).

LOT's of hours this spring in baiting, checking baits and hunting. Lost count actually and haven't slept much since mid April. Last night it finally came together for my hunting partner Tyler. He had to go solo because I couldn't get away from work. 15 mins after settling in this bear came in. Beautiful boar and he made a killer shot. Nice to see all the hard work pay off. Now maybe it can happen just one more time before the end of June!
Wow... That is beautiful. Congrats to you guys for all your hard work. That's an amazing bear and to do it with trad gear, OUTSTANDING!
88 with a couple grizzly tossed in to spice things up a bit. Well behind last year at this point.
Congrats again Hunt. You put the work in and it paid off.
Nick- that is a beautiful pic with the lighting of the sky in the background.
Nothing against the guided hunts at all and I hope to go on one someday but there's an extra level of respect I have for the guys doing it on their own. Congrats to everyone, great bears taken this year.

Arica from S.Dakota.
Pine Acres.
Awesome bears spike buck! See what happens when Ontario re-opens the spring season
Carcus, I have a feeling the spring hunt is here for good. The big ones do move better in the spring!! Less females shot in the spring. Spring hunting is much easier on the guides!!
There are a lot of bear hunters who can't hunt spring for some reason or other so I will keep my Fall hunt going into the future with a lesser amount of hunters in the spring.
Can't add my own, but I will add my dad's. Sure wish I was a better photographer and took a picture that did his bear justice. Well over 400 lbs but doesn't show it.
Might as well add my big brother's first bear also. We had a great week chasing black bear.
You may not have tagged one of your own, but the way I look at it, both of those are almost as much yours as ours. I can say with quite a bit of certainty that neither of us (well, me for sure) would have had the chance to fill those tags if you hadn't made the initial trip two years ago.
101 but we have a long way to go and running out of time to get there. chris thanks for helping out with the pine acre kills.
we had 144 as of this date LAST YEAR
I killed two and there were seven take out of my cabin this year. Internet is too slow to post photos from Whale Pass.
A few more from Idaho. Hunt
A few more from Idaho. Hunt
And one last bear. This is the young man I am mentoring this year. Congrats Dylan on your first of many. Hunt
One more from our bait. Tyler's dad, really pretty bear too. His first grizzly.
It's down to the wire in Idaho and finally had a chance at one.....this guy ran 30 yards just out of site and death groaned 6 times for about 30 seconds straight!
I've heard turkeys gobble and bulls bugle and on a calm night on a mountain top, it sounded like Sasquatch:)
Teamed up with Deerslayer this year and hopefully Justin shoots a big one this week......
Nick - that is another beautiful bear from up there in AK. You guys have had quite a year - congrats!
Bear No. 1
Had another bear come in and start feeding on this one while Lisa and I were there skinning. Never had that happen before. I threw rocks at him, but he wouldn't leave. Ended up having to fetch a shotgun from a friends place and finish skinning while Lisa stood guard.
Bear No. 2
Both bears just over 19 inches. Didn't see anything very big this year. Second bear taken on last night of baiting season, June 15th.
Hey Bob if that second bear doesn't look big, wow!!!! Nice bears!!!
New Brunswick, Stewarts Old Pine Lodge, June 17th.
My nephews bear from earlier the same week in New Brunswick.
Rifle but over bait. First year baiting. 8'10" grizzly client from NM
A follow up to the old warrior I got this spring in Alberta...3 of 4 canines broken off and many teeth missing. Love this skull!!
6-24-16 Idaho. Finally had one come in to the bait. 3 bears that night, after sitting 70+ hours and not seeing a thing. Persistence paid off. Very happy to punch that tag. (Cant get photo to rotate, sorry)
Deathmoan - awesome bear. Congrats!
We are not up to last year's number but It seems that there are proportionately more pictures of big bears than usual.
Overall it was not a great season for us at this end of the country - an exceptionally late spring as well as persistent poor bear hunting weather were the major factors.
The Fall season will bring the numbers up. Hope to add more pictures in about 45 days!!
one more to add. A friend and I went to Call of the north, and did their primitive DIY hunt and I shot this guy 6/7. He was a load to carry out. I shot him with my Stewart long bow. We are already looking into doing it again next year.
On my 9th try I scored. Went to Saskatchewan.

124. We don't beat last year (we need 80 more) unless the outfitters get in the game. Chris is doing his part on the site and in the field. Nice bears guys.
Working on this one... If I can get him, it will be my first in Colorado. Have had over 20 tags for bears in this state and never been able to even see one where and when I could shoot him.
