Prayer request for HEAT!

NOTE: I'm posting this with Heat's permission ...
My good friend Heat here in Arizona has been experiencing some discomfort with his eye the past several months. After viewing MRI results, yesterday Heat's ophthalmologist told him that he has a mass/tumor in the orbit behind his right eye. Heat has an appointment scheduled with a specialist in about 10 days.
Nick(Heat) is a man of faith (Christian believer). As such, he'd very much appreciate any and all of your prayers for God's healing. Nick knows God has him in His hands through all this, but the news is unsettling for his family nonetheless. A special prayer too for Nick's 2-year-old daughter that God will comfort her in this time of uncertainty.
On a side note (although this may sound a bit petty considering everything): This year Nick finally was successful with a VERY hard-to-draw Arizona cow buffalo tag for the North Kaibab (it runs 2 weeks starting July 15). How great would it be if he'd still be able to make that hunt! :-)

Yikes, that's scary stuff. Sorry to hear that. Keep your chin up though and don't despair. These things are often treatable.

If you've read many of my older posts before I became a little more "civilized" I can be a pretty ornery cuss when need be! This thing doesn't know who it started a fight with! Plus I have Faith in the Almighty that He will see us through. Much obliged guys!
Prayers sent. I know of way too many cases of "1 of a million" tumors. I do know of one young fellow that had eye trouble and was diagnosed with a tumor about 3 or 4 years ago. With no treatment they monitor it for growth and fortunately it hasn't grown(fingers crossed).... so there is hope.

Best to you, Heat. If its any consolation, my beloved yellow lab had one of those inocular tumors 8 years ago, it was removed, and she's still going strong. Hope your outcome is as positive as hers.

Prayers for a speedy recovery. Twenty one years ago my older brother had a tumor removed from behind his right eye the size of a tennis ball. The tumor had pressed and compacted his optic nerve causing a bulged eye and blurred vision. Within weeks of surgery he had full vision back in that eye and has not been troubled by it since. With todays advancements and technology his surgery and recovery should go well. Keep the faith Heat.

Good Morning,
Other than having a small lesion behind my eye I am OK guys. Most of the time I hardly know its there. Nonetheless it has to go! I am most thankful for all the support which has really helped keep my spirits high. I am incredibly honored and humbled by the outpouring of love. Going to see an oculoplastic surgeon at UCSD on the 9th. We'll know more sometime after that I hope. It's the not knowing that sucks. Please keep us in your prayers; this thing is far from over.

Going to UCSD tomorrow to meet with the surgeon. Not sure what is going to happen other than an eye exam. I hope he can diagnose my tumor with the MRI images.

Heat's eye itself seems to be okay at this point. Tumor appears to be in frontal bone directly behind and a bit to the outer side of his right eyebrow. Keep with the prayers!

Hi everybody,
I wanted to update you all with the latest from the doctor who I saw yesterday. He is more worried about digging around in there to do a biopsy than he is about what the lesion is doing so for now we are just going to take a breather, check it again with an MRI in 3 months and go from there. This lesion is very small, and doesn't seem to be presenting many symptoms that the doctor is concerned about. I am not experiencing much discomfort so for now everything is fine. This is pretty much the best case scenario I could have asked for. Many thanks for all the prayers, support, and concern! You all helped me keep my spirits high throughout this ordeal and I can't thank you all enough. Please feel free to continue to pray but be sure to thank God for all the blessings we receive! Many prayers have been answered. Praise the Lord for that!

Prayers sent for continued good health. Sometimes I wonder how many of us live with undiagnosed lesions, tumors, etc. because of no symptons or otherwise ill effects. Its just those that find out that deal with the everlasting stress.

My doctor chose the exact same avenue back in 2010 following two inconclusive lung biopsies. Had quarterly scans for two years and he backed off to bi-annual scans in 2012. In those three years, nothing changed on the scans, so he discontinued the scans and basically told me to contact him if anything changes. That was 3-1/2 years ago. The lesions are still there, but apparently quite dormant. Lessons learned...life is short and tomorrow is promised to no one. Get what you want out of life while you can.
Praying for a similar result for you brother. Now get out there and do what you love!
