NM 16D Elk Help

Looking for any direction in GMU 16D for NM first season Archery. My buddy and I are both Military guys and this is the first year we have been home for hunting season. Looking for a good place to start during this first season and hot time of the year. I appreciate any knowledge you could pass along. Thank you in advance!!
