We have a bear here in northern NJ that has been walking around upright on just his back legs for a few years now. Fish and Game has recent reports on him and he appears to be just fine. This fall season should see some bruisers taken. Should be an interesting hunt. Will b e 6 days for bow and the last 3 for MZ.

Tracker...yes baiting is legal with some limitations.... you can't sit within 100 yards if you are in a tree stand or man made blind.. Natural blow down or rock pile etc you can sit as close as you like

Shug are they having a season this year? I remember a hunt I went on with you guys and the first thing I saw was a big bear.

New Jersey bears have it all - great genetics, a long growing season, abundant food, and historically, an extremely limited harvest.
Mark, I sincerely appreciate you thinking of me but those dates overlap with my moose season at home.... if only it was a little later or a few weeks earlier!
As you know, moose meat is our most important staple and we have been out of moose for a while now (because we share a lot) and we are nearing the end of our caribou meat.
You and Angelo should do well - have a great hunt! I will be with you in thought.
