My daughters first hunt!

Warning muzzle loader kill. Don't care though, a new hunter has entered the brotherhood, I will start corrupting her into bow hunting in the future!
Last weekend started youth season in Iowa. My daughter is 10 1/2 and was totally stoked to get out hunting. She has been practicing daily and is a killer shot at 50yds. Not only did she make an amazing shot at slightly over her ideal range, (75yds) but she helped do some of the knife work gutting the animal, including helping to remove the heart and liver. Then she helped me butcher the animal the next day taking care of the front shoulders herself. For 3 hours after the kill my daughter resembled a gas molecule, bouncing to and fro, attempting to talk some rapid form of the English language. I believe she is hooked on hunting for life!

This is the first pic we took of my daughter as she grabbed a hold of her first deer, I believe you can see raw emotion and excitement leaking out of her eyes! She was excited to say the least.
This is awesome James! Congrats to your daughter! I don't care what she killed it with. That first smile on a successful hunter is priceless! I still get a big ol grin on my face every time I think of each of my two daughter's first kills! Way to go dad!

Very good ! Nothing better than a kid's first deer. I can still remember both my boys' first deer, like it was yesterday. And the fact that it was a perfect shot and quick kill is icing on the cake. Many more to come !
