How about a super 18?

There is a super slam (29). A super 10. A super 25. Seems like a big gap between the ten and the 25. Wouldn't it make sense to have a super 18 to split the difference between 10 and 25.
SUPER 25 CRITERIA: The Super Ten and Super Slam were introduced to GSCO members in late 2009. Exactly two years later, in fall 2011, the Super 25 was added to GSCO's family of Slams. Simply put, one must have completed a Super Ten to be eligible for the Super 25. Once all ten categories have been represented, a member can add any fifteen other big game trophies from the Super Slam list to qualify for the Super 25.
Many North American big game hunters may never have the opportunity to complete a Super Slam. Completing a Super Slam continues to become more difficult for different reasons, including polar bear import permits becoming harder or impossible to acquire, and certain big game trophy hunts becoming more difficult to obtain. Considering these factors and others, the Super 25 was introduced and certainly deserves recognition as a lifetime achievement for any big game hunter.
SUPER TEN CRITERIA: To answer the above question, we must first mention the Super Slam of North American Big GameĀ®. To accomplish a Super Slam, hunters must take all 29 of the recognized NA big game animals. Those 29 can be broken down into TEN categories. The ten categories are: bears, cats, deer, elk, caribou, moose, bison/muskox, goat, antelope and sheep.
So, we can now easily answer that the Super Ten is when a hunter has taken and registered at least one from each of these ten categories.
Many North American big game hunters will never have the opportunity to take all 29 animals for the Super Slam. Knowing this, Grand Slam Club/Ovis Executive Director Dennis Campbell originally conceived the idea of the Super Ten way back in 2002. He realized that to take one trophy from each of these ten categories would be a lifetime goal and an amazing achievement.
Would my cost for entering be more than the 10 and less than the 25? Will my plaque recognizing my accomplishments be bigger?
You better get that copy righted ASAP so you don't get sued! Haha. Might as well file a copy right and trademark for them all: Super 1, Super 2, Super 3...
What would you propose for the Super 18? The Super 25 seemed to come about for people that couldn't afford the rest of it or didn't want to harvest certain animals. The Super 25 to me is pretty meaningless and I think most people that get there have the intention to take the remaining four animals. I like the Super 10 concept as I think it's more meaningful for someone that doesn't want to chase the NA29 and the species distinction, for the most part, make sense and provides some great hunting diversity.
The Super 18 would be just like the 25 less 7 electives . The base 10 is defined, and you can add 15 electives. The 18 would be the base 10 plus only 8 electives.
I also think, since it is about the experience and not the kill it would make sense to count just hunting for them as meeting the criteria. If you hunted and did not score it could still count for something.
I would not suggest that be called the Super 10, Super 18 (if this is added), the Super 25, or the Super Slam. I would call it something like the Excellent 10, 18, 25, Slam since Excellent is really good, but not quite Super.
You would be able to mix and match the Excellents and the Supers but you could not call it a Super if there were any species that were just pursued and not killed. In other words for an Excellent Slam you could have killed some of the 29 and hunted but failed on some others of the 29. For a Super Slam you would have to have all kills.
We need to find a way to get more people involved in the sport and letting more people have a chance to be recognized is a good thing.
Supersize any number you want, would rather see the bobcat, coyote, lynx, wolf, turkey get some some love ! Were's the inclusion? Don't forget the grouse slam without using dog of course.
I think the Super 18 would finally give my life purpose.
Super redneck 3... Pig, Whitetail and Coyote. Or turkey for a SR 4. :)
"I also think, since it is about the experience and not the kill it would make sense to count just hunting for them as meeting the criteria. If you hunted and did not score it could still count for something."
A participation award would be an added draw for sure - we've seen that concept work really well in other aspects of life.
I think that "slam" might be considered a derogatory word to some people. If you named the "Excellent Experience 18" it would probably have a greater draw among non-hunters. Throw a "Dude" on the end to pull in some millennials.
Super 10, Super Duper 18, and Super Slam? Don't forget "Awesome" is an awesome word too. Awesome 10, Awesome Duper 18, nope that doesn't work. Guess we would need to stick to Super stuff. Sorry
I'm with Embry, ( since I are a redneck ) and I am eligible TODAY ! Whar my plack at ?
Nah. Rick's Super Redneck has to include 'Possum.
What about the elite 3? Since that's what I've killed :)
I love watching people respond to Bou . . . Since I suspect he giggles a LOT. The worst thing about it is that I suspect he also has some valuable contributions, but I have a difficult time figuring out whether his posts are tongue-in-cheek (like I suspect this thread is), or serious?
Hey 'Bou, how about a Super Supper-the 10, best eating game aminals?
I'm gonna go with tongue-in-cheek
Is a bison and musk ox even related? Shouldn't it be the Even Superer 11?
I've put in a request to be recognized once I obtain the Uterine 25. Females from all eligible species. We could also call it:
Super Vulva 25
Eminently eatable Super Vag 25
Tastier than your All Male, Super Vag 25
Awesome, non weinered 25
I'm totally serious. Way easier to draw tags, way easier to finish quickly when dealing with things with vaginas, way better eating (usually) and no antlers/horns to carry or heads to mount.
Super vulva as already been taken. I think it is a grocery store chain somewhere.
or maybe that was super value not sure.
Can I include road kill as long as I was on my way to or from bow hunting? I could add a squirrel, raccoon, some assorted song birds and almost a deer!
I'm going with the Attempted 17.
And the Super Duper Pooper 32 by adding wolverine, bobcat and lynx.
Never a dull moment. Or if there is one, Bou'bound is sure to help liven things up LOL
Ki-ke....I need clarification. Are you talking about eating Vaginas is "way better, usually", way better than eating what??? I assume you can understand my concern here :)
Drycreek... Rick... I'm a 1/3 of the way there for 2016. ^ I've got a giant possum on camera too, I'll get him this weekend. ;)
Bou'... text me, hay!! lol
Embry,
Is that Hogg a road kill that you made look like a bow kill? If so you get twice the points. Otherwise my squirrel is just as good but easier to get out of the parking lot, er uh, woods.
Rick M... I actually threw a big burr oak at it. Damndest thing. Hit him right between the eyes. I finished him off with the bow. :)
Elkaddict
You've got issues, bro.
; ^)
What about the world renown Super Dink taking a certain amount of small game species that eligible to hunt? think how many subspecies there are with just these few listed? Opossum, groundhog, fox, coyote, bobcat, grouse, skunk, squirrel, rabbit, duck, goose, partridge, woodcock, muskrat, etc.
We the hunters only have ourselves to blame for letting this slip thru the big national organizations.

You can now enter the Super Awesome Slam 29 (c) and be as good as Rowdy. I have included the first entry to show my Awesomeness. I am working hard to be the first one to 29!
Whoa there wildwilderness!!! Your method cheapens our fine sport. After all, one won't even have to leave one's living room to chase the SAS29(c).
You'd have to add an annual convention somewhere as well as mandating that only SAS29(c) registered photoshoppers be used for any of the top 12 species.
