Has there been a date set for this yet?
...and I'm fine with the generic beer!
I'll be Turkey hunting that week about 5 hours away and have thought about heading over for a day or two. The Bowsite meet and greet would definitelly be on the itinerary. I just need a date and time so I can make some plans.
In all likelihood it will Friday 3 pm to 5 pm. When it's finalized we'll let you know. C
Pat said It will kick off with the 1st annual Bowsite Beer Brawl. Bring yer goggles.
Thanks Pat and Charlie.....This event is a blast (and sets the tone for the night!)
Mark
"Beer Brawl"... Hmmm... settle some bowsite scores, eh? Maybe bring in some "trad guys" and "compounders" to debate?
Rick, step up and be the first guy to ask about shooting a Rage. I got your back I swear.
ill be bringing the official Bowsite Shot ski...that should bring us all back together as a unified brotherhood!
Mark
What is the date and where?
I think we need to have a cover charge So Pat don't have to pull out his card . I have been to every one so far and its good to put a face on bowsite posters. Every lunch or dinner has a ticket you have to buy. And I know Pat is having to put out some coin to get a room add the booze and I think its got out of hand. and if all had to buy a $10 ticket it mite help the bill.
Be great to have a cover high enough that we could not only cover expenses but have a little for Pat to donate to St. Jude or some other worthy cause.
Be good if something GOOD could actually come out of our lies, tales and distortions....
I'd pay a cover, and I won't even drink :)
Friday 3-5 would work for me. I'll have a turkey hunt starting Saturday AM.
Is Zac going to volunteer to be the bouncer?
If Zack is our "bouncer" we are all in deep sh!t!
Genesis nailed it (as he often does)......$10-$20 cover...
Mark
Talk about putting the "fox" in charge of the hen house....
I'll be taking money at the door... :)
As Dan said...let's get out in front of this.... $10 Cover for every no shootin, can't scoutin',string jumper that walks in $20 for guys posting here over 10 years....Executive Membership if you will. If you don't know how long....$20 for being clueless :)
Is their a second????
Can I second it if I'm not going to be there this year?
I thought our Bowsite membership fees covered it..... .
$10 cover would be cheap. When the beer ran out last time a CAN of beer was $6 or$8..... might as well been Hawaii.....
Make it $30. I'm not gonna be able to make it this year..... =D
I favor a cover charge.
Would there be an single event charge and then maybe a life time charge fee ( with fee break for 65 and older) ?
Im in the 20 $$ range....I second the motion....
Heck the way some of you guys are talking you could live stream this event and sell pay per view access!
I have seen you guys drink 10$ is not going to cover it
Aye!
Those opposed, same sign. (Crickets)
Motion passes!
Game on!!
Mark
I think I just saw Pat flick a tear from his good eye........
$20 Cover passes easily....
Looking forward to my first meet and greet. Driving out from PA, for Fri and Sat.
One of my favorite parts of the convention. Looking forward to it.
Lenny
Steve:
You going to be there?
I'll be there, my friend. Cover charge in hand!
Looking forward to seeing you Roy
Can't ya just tip the dancers???
Oh..... never mind.... wrong place..... different tags....
Looking forward to it. A cover is absolutely a good idea. And 10 bucks is not going to cover the kind of beer we put away. Pat, I still say you just look the other way as we smuggle in some booze. Many of us have done this sort of thing on many occasions in many different venues. We probably have as much cumulative alcohol-smuggling experience as we do cumulative bowhunting experience.
Okay, I'll smuggle and take money at the door.
"Okay, I'll smuggle and take money at the door." '
Geez Embry.....it's amazing.... just like the last place I recall I paid a cover charge...... would you wear a suit???
=D
I really thought that you guys had more smarts than you are showing. The show is in St. Louis, Anheuser Busch is in St. Louis and the Clydsdales are in St. Louis. A very reliable source has told me that Pat has contracted to have the horses and their wagon bring the suds to the meet and greet. Our fearless leader will always go the extra mile to take care of his boys. Stay thristy my friends.
TD... I sure would. I could bounce if needed. :)
I am probably getting into town for 2 days only, and am trying to plan which days. I've been trying to find a schedule of the seminars and haven't had much luck. I'm thinking Friday-Saturday, but Thursday-Friday is probably in play too. Waiting on the M&G and schedule to be finalized.
Also wondering how long the banquets last? Anyone care to fill me in a bit?
The schedule for the convention should go out this week. Things are really coming together so be prepared to have a great time.
Franz, if you only have 2 days, fri/sat is going to be better than thurs/fri
Who all plans to shoot in the 3D tourney? I am driving so I could bring my bow so Ed doesn't go postal when no one shoots;) Plus, it will be a much more sober event than the golf outing was in Phoenix!
I've been trying to find someone for here in Pa to drive out with me. So far I have not found anyone. Where I live in Northeast Pa it's about 15 or 16 hour drive. So if anyone's planning on driving out from out this way and would like to get together and drive out with me let me know. Ed
I was just looking at the registration info from the email blast and also wondered about the 3D. I'm flying down, but I'd bring my bow to shoot in the 3D.
My understanding is all entered will compete in a shoot off until a winner is determined who then faces cityhunter in the finals. ha ha ha!
Charlie....who's cityhunter? I think he fell off the face of the earth.
I'll tell you right now I'm pulling the last convention thread and will have roll call for all those that wanted the 3D... you know who you are. We're gonna have it and it's gonna be fun. We can have a shoot off, money shoot, naked shoot... whatever you guys want. Ed F
I thought everyone was going to have to use the same bow so there would be equality. Then the winner will have a face off with City. City drew a "bye" in the first round- his amazing shooting skills exempted him from eliminations.
Also heard that everyone is going to get a trophy- don't want anyone going home with feelings hurt.
"Naked shoot"? Yea, I'm out. I draw the line at hugging.
I can't find my glasses so you will have to find me with my name tag
Pat,
Are you going to pull some political strings and have Donald, Jr. at the Meet & Greet?
Geez Danny.... looks like ya even fooled Melanie..... she's about to move to the next table..... heheheheh.....
..or maybe the Donald himself...
Mark
Inmates I mean attendees:)
Lets see - from left, Genesis, Jaquomo, Pat, Florida Mike, Bigdan, Charlie, Mad Trapper, Medicinemann.
Lotta big dead animals among that bunch! Got my schedule rearranged so I'll be there Friday and Saturday. Looking forward to it!
Lou,
Your retired and you had to rearrange your schedule ? LOL
Here's an Idea, Lets do a raffle, $$ a ticket winner get a free Az Coues deer hunt, and we can donate the funds to a good charity ? What do you guys think?
Great idea on the raffle! I'm also all in favor of paying a "cover" to defray Pat's expenses.
Greg, I'm as busy as I was when I was in the corporate world, just don't have to get on airplanes every week. Get up and turn on the coffee maker, get dressed, drink coffee and read the paper, breakfast, check Bowsite, shoot bow, work on an article, run errands, take a nap, maybe fish or go for a hike or bike ride or work out while wife is fixing something I broke, check Bowsite, piddle around with some hunting or fishing stuff, check Bowsite again, watch wife make dinner while I read some more, eat, watch a little TV or a movie, check Bowsite for the late night drunk posts, sleep, start over again. Grueling, but I've trained all my life to prepare. Like training for a sheep hunt, only different!
Just got registered. Now I have to start working on my tales.. err accurate accounts. With the sucesses that Pat had this past year on whitetails, I understand that he is going to be holding a seminar on scent control. I can't wait. I am bringing the hot dogs!
Somehow I missed this and all the trash-talk earlier. Mark/Kota/Buffalo, I would love to volunteer as bouncer.
First of all, I would let everyone in because I don't discriminate when it comes to drinking. And I would enforce a strict "two-drink minimum" to ensure that everyone is having fun. And if anyone gets rowdy, I would make sure they are escorted out of the event and over to my section at the bar, because I have many a good friendship with others that have a different description of "moderation."
This should be a lot of fun!
Steven, that's mighty gracious ,but for me I'm already booked for your august hunt! I definitely think we should raise a little money for charity if someone like Pat /Charlie will scheme it for us
I thought Bowsite WAS a charity????? Have I been sending my checks to the wrong place????
OK, am registered, we have our "bouncer Zack," Steven's Coues charity giveaway, the meet and greet, 3D shoot, some awesome speakers....
St Louis will be a blast!
Mark
I would love to go and get rowdy and bounced outta there but timing is awful as I'll be getting rolling on Spring bear camp baiting and setup. Wish it was held in March so I could attend but will have to wait til I retire from guiding at age 97. Have fun boys and give Pat a noogie for me.
Why doesn't Pat answer the questions. No beer for him.
Zac... Bouncers can't drink. :)
Pat is like Trump, doesn't like hostile press spreading fake news. That's why he isn't responding.
Noogie? I was thinkin' more along the lines of a wedgie...... heheheheh....
"Bouncers can't drink" Ohhhhh..... a high class place....... where's my clip-on......
Getting close. Is there a meet and greet scheduled or are we fabricating our own?? lol
Patience Grasshopper:)
Hint: See my post from back on January 9th
Charlie, "someone" is just a little excited....I think Nedly may want to finalize his wardrobe for the big trip!
Mark
"I think Nedly may want to finalize his wardrobe for the big trip!".....and he should bring his GPS, so he can find his way back to his room at O dark thirty with a BAC that rivals his waist measurement....
Gonna be in control this year. maybe
Who is going to "fall on the sword" and be the keeper of Find My I phone for Ned this year?
Mark
I am still looking for one of my phones to this day. Out in some field somewhere. Maybe in the corn even. Has some caribou hunting video on it. Have an I phone now tho. Darn phones get me into trouble all the time.
This was also on Ned's' phone...
"Corn porn" I'm sure...
Mark
Pat you been in the Donuts this winter? the pink is a little over the top
No wonder I can't find that dang phone. Pat had already found it. I have looked for 100 plus hours and Pat had it the whole time. Rick is my long lost brother no doubt. Stevie is so hot.
And you need a haircut, ya dang hippie
Stevie was hot. Now she looks like she should be floating over the Macy's parade.
Don't worry, Ned. I'll be in charge
I might make my first visit just to see what Ned does. Two Beer Greer he's known as.
Curse your tongue Jaquomo regarding your last statement about Stevie. Curse your tongue. #foreveragoddess
Getting personal but this is my pajama top.
I think I speak for all of us when I say we don't need to see the bottoms.
Ned, I'm betting your pajama top would barely fit one of her thighs now... :-)
Lou talks like he's getting sexier and better looking as he ages. :)
Rick - I am! Women I've known for 40 years tell me that. I've morphed from a certified dork into an enviable specimen of manliness and vigor! :-)
I am pretty sure I can't take this abuse any longer about my lil gold dust woman.
One of two known pics of me and Stevie together. Here is my fist with 68 year old Stevie.
Well at least your fist was fully clothed....
Giving Stevie the fist... no no no. Say it ain't so Ned.
