Check out this sheep hunting story that ran in the New York Times yesterday. It does a great job of showing hunters as effective conservationists.

Very good article. We need more of these out there for the non-hunting public.

I know I'm gonna get hated on for saying this, but I really wish they had left Junior's name out of this.

No good can come....

Neat, and great to see my old friend and hunting buddy Ray Alt in the story! Well deserved! And Kudos to Kuiu for getting the story out.

I ran into their photographer in the Legacy/ETOWS Lounge at the Sheep Show and talked with her for while, so I knew they were there. But I never expected a story of this magnitude!

MPN,

When I learned Jason had bought the tag, my very first thought was, "Dang! I knew KUIU was doing well, but I didn't know they were doing THAT well!"

Ike x2. I know next to nothing about sheep, but the article was very refreshing considering the source.

With Brandon Burns and Jake Franklin (who lives in the area where that ram is), he'll have two world class guides to make sure it happens.

Great article! Here's a couple of pictures of the sheep that were transplanted from Rocky Boy to SD. Not the best quality, only had my phone on me while late season mule deer hunting.

Jake used to guide for Terry. He may still at times, but he's started his own guiding service, KIKA Worldwide.

For sure, Jake doesn't do any guiding for Terry anymore

I wonder if this article would have made the NYT if the election had turned out differently......either way, glad to see and read it.

BTW, what day was this article actually published by the NYT?

From: NvaGvUp

Jake,

This article was published last Thursday, 2/16/2017.

I have no reason to believe the results of the election had anything to do with it.

Well heck, they should just talk with "BigDan" he has the sheep right in his yard. LOL
