I am in no real hurry. They can tell me that I pulled a rabbit out of the hat with a NR unit 9 archery tag whenever they please. Good luck in the draw.

Hah...you boys. "Up TO 10%" go to NR. Very optimistic thinking. I'm glad I'm a 2nd tier guy, there is a lot less competition in the "poor" units :-)

Just having fun. I drew 9 archery Elk two years ago and would really like a tag again. I have a good 2nd choice that I could actually draw but...9 would be fun for a 2nd time.

Last year, 1,578 NRs applied for Unit 9, for at most 10 available tags. That makes for overall odds of 158/1. Good luck everyone!

158:1 for a great elk hunt wouldn't be terrible odds. Esp if you're acquainted with applying for sheep hunts in the public draws! Of course your bonus points come into play in the second pass of the AZ draw....a lot of guys have a lot of points. And up to 5 of the 10 allowed NR tags go to high point holders in the first pass of the draw, just due to the overwhelming numbers of high-point NR's in the draw. So unfortunately the NR odds are worse than 158:1 in the second pass of the draw. But still, that's where most of us will be pinning our hopes!

400@home--would that be the size of your bull from Unit 9 last time?
I ended up with a paper application this year so I will not know anything until it hits the portal. I'm almost sure I will draw with my 13 points. My 1st choice "should" draw but my second is always rated poor by all the "experts" and should be a lock. I was completely satisfied the last time I hunted it so either way I am more anxious than normal for the results to be posted.
