Courtney with her catch.
Not often I get to spend the day checking traps with my daughter but we had chosen a good one to do so.

Wow what a day. Congrats on the special day with family and a full truck. How much area did it take to get all of them?

Grunter All where caught in about 5 acres
Mark Watkins These where caught with snares, but I have good success with foothold traps as well. I set a few footholds before I left to try and clean up the rest of the pack.

Nice take! May be a dumb question (we can't use snares here, so I'm totally ignorant) do the snares generally kill them?

ACE, For the most part if done right the snares are very effective in killing. The odd time you find a wolf standing there like a dog on a leash but not to often.

The truck picture would be a great poster here in Mn., the Minneapolis/St. Paul pro-wolf would be eating their own over it. We do have a real problem with them in northern Mn., they are out of balance and are a big factor in the moose decline also the deer, management control is the only way.

Congratulations... great catch, great day, in great company! I haven't trapped wolves in a while but I have been thinking of getting back into it. Fur prices are mediocre these days but the financial part of it is secondary to me.
