I know, I know, its a gun pic so I'm sorry. Son killed this deer yesterday and since it has droopy ears does that mean its not legit?

I can`t believe you would try to pull a con like that using a kid....how shameful...lol That is almost a mirror image of my first buck 35 years ago....I`ve been "hooked" ever since....NICE DEER.

That's either a dang big buck or a mighty small kid! (Full disclosure - my 14/almost 15-year-old is 4' 8", so if we were to put him in that picture it'd look like an Elk).
And for a kid that age... better droopy ears than droopy drawers!

I think the cartilage at the base of the ears sometimes gets broken from fighting, especially on the wider bucks.

Nice buck!
Speaking of droopy ears, this pic is from Realtree Monster Bucks 23. This is about the droopiest I've ever seen.

There are different stages of rigor and I have seen many dead deer with droopy ears as well as live ones.Live ones can get cartlidge damage from tick and fly bites.Same thing can happen to cattle

Congrats to your son nice buck. I believe the droopy ears come when you cut the cape to insert the bigger rack and then sew it back up ;)

Had this one on camera this year. He lost his right side a couple of weeks later, not sure what his problem was and never saw him in person. Again nice deer.
