Thanks for everyone's response to my earlier thread- it really means a lot. Steve pulled through surgery ok. They were able to get a lot of the bad stuff out- the rest will be treated by other non-surgery methods. He's confident it will be successful.
I've seen these threads before, and I've always been affected by them- but they've become a lot more meaningful over the last few days, I can tell you for sure. For those of you who have gone through or are going through the same sort of thing - much love, and keep the faith. Thanks again, everyone. Genuine concern, even over an internet website- goes a long ways.
