Owl, NAP mech BH , Shock Wave. Same as I use on turkeys , ie, compound bow, I purchased them at Walmart over the years for less than 20$/3 but I do not see them there recently.
Wait! I hear a single goose. We jump in the blind and get ready. Wings down, set, and landing.

Another fine day afield with mans best friend.
That is awesome Paul. Congrats!
Awesome deal, Paul. Love following
Paul and Chase= The A Team!!
Awesome thread you do each year Paul. Thank you very much for sharing with all of us.
I'm finding myself looking at local "Yard Hoppers" a bit differently lately.
Congrats on another great day. Looks like a blast. How do those geese taste? By me they taste horrible.
As always Paul, you guys are looking good and getting it done.
Rob, it is always about knowing how to cook wild game and fowl. I usually make jerky from the breast meat. Very good and a welcome source of protein on my solo elk hunts.
Awesome hunt today Paul! when you have a happy dog it's hard not to be a happy hunter! Congrats!
Congrats again Paul. How much longer is your season open?
Jeff, until Feb 12th. 5 goose limit
SWEET!! Great hunt, great hunting buddy and great story!! Thanks! Shawn
Happy hunter, happy dog, great story and great pics = happy bowsiters !
Thanks Paul !
All kinds of awesome! You and Chase are a heck of a team! Good stuff Paul!
Love these threads! Thank you Paul.
What a great thread and hunt thanks keep it up .
Congrats and thanks Paul! This helps break up a long winter!
Also agree with what's been said - great thread to follow along.
Congratulations. It looks like a blast. And by asking this question I am in no way criticizing or try to make an argument. But what are laws out there on shooting migratory birds. Cause in Kansas I think they have to be in flight. I have been watching this thread have really enjoyed it. Keep it coming!
Rusty, I understand and am glad you are enjoying the thread, but please show me in your state regulation or federal waterfowl reg, where waterfowl have to be in flight. I have personally not seen that regulation in any state I have hunting in.
Maybe others can chime in and help clarify. my best, Paul
Awesome, as always, Paul. Your dialogue throughout is what really steps your threads up!! Good stuff.
Wow. I had not a clue. Lived here my whole life and thought that duck and geese had to be in flight. Granted, I don't hunt them but I do hunt doves. I just read the regs and doves have to be in flight. (Only migratory doves). I did not see anything regarding geese and flight. Sorry for getting your thread off track.
Not off track at all. Thanks for the reply and clarification. In my particular situation with a bow in hand, I treat them like a do turkeys. Recently, I have checked YouTube and seen quite a few bow hunters now hunting geese the same way.
I do believe historically, and because of past market hunting practices using canons and large bored shotguns, the practice of shooting waterfowl off the water and ground was looked upon as being not good for the sport or the populations.
Enjoying the exploits of you and Chase!
Love this thread! Keep it up!
I know here in Md you cannot shoot waterfowl while sitting on the water. Like you said Paul all do to the Market Hunters of the old days.
before i hit the goose field I checked out the local goose pond up the road. Only a few geese

Minus 3 degrees yesterday morning and warmed up this morning to 9 above. Warmer days ahead. Lots of geese headed south towards Denver. Will wait until some come back to hunt the Yard Hoppers again. Maybe by Friday. The season is open until mid Feb. Chase has not had a "treat" for a few days so he is ready for that.
Speaking of warmer temps. I was walking the ocean beach near San Diego last Sunday, in shorts and bare footed in mid 70s temp. Hard to keep my eyes off of the "scenery" if you know what I mean. :). Hey, I can still look, can't I?
Paul, thanks for helping "Chase" our winter doldrums away! These threads are just plain old entertaining and you are ( or should be ) an inspiration to the rest of us off-season couch warmers. I may just grab some flu-flu's and go look for some white furred four legged Hoppers.
There ain't nothing wrong with looking Paul! Good luck Friday. Been in a deep freeze here in Iowa the past few days but supposed to hit 20's today and 40's tomorrow and Friday...will feel like T shirt weather!
Nothing wrong with looking for sure. Just remember..... Chase is the dawg..... =D
Paul....break that Oregon out of retirement!!! Joking of course, great thread!!! Congrats to you and Chase.

tobywon, I donated that Oregon compound bow, case, arrows, release to the CBA banquet a few years ago. One of the arrows even had blood on it from the bear I killed, the last species I needed for the Colorado Big Eight. It was a youth drawing and a 14 year old boy won it. Lots of great memories hunting with that bow. The story I wrote, for the CBA newsletter/magazine (titled, Deschutes (model of bow), Me, And The Big Eight) was included in the case. She was a great bow. As we know the Oregon Bow Co went out of business when the owner and his son crashed their airplane while scouting for elk. Picture of bow and then the last species for the Big Eight.
To add to the above story, I had retired Deschutes two years before and purchased a Martin compound but I just had to kill all eight species with Deschutes, so out of retirement she came. It made for a good story, her by my side through thick and thin while bow hunting for those eleven years.
Well done Paul and great photos!!! It was a great bow, I shot the Deschutes as well (in Trebark). Yes, very sad and unfortunate the way they went out of business.
Thanks Paul. As always, great thread.

Same here. Goose numbers are down at my end of "town". But I will still get out a few more times.
