First time to Shiloh

Well we finally made it down to Shiloh Ranch. After a brief sit down with Matt and Cheryl , we knew were going to enjoy this place . Matt suggested we try stand 4 on our first night out. Double ladder stand that my son wanted to hunt out of . He liked the idea of a 16' stand as opposed to sitting in the ground blind . Wanted a better view of what's going on. Got into stand around 445 . Feeder went off at 530 and that thing sure gets your attention if you don't expect it ! First bunch of hogs came in around 610. We counted about 11. My son picked out the leader of the bunch. A real nice Black one. Came to full draw and out of the corner of my eye I spotted a real nice Black and White hog coming down the trail. My kids been obsessed with the chance of shooting a Black and White hog that he's been seeing on Bowsite. The pig came in to about 11 yards , turned broadside and the kid let the arrow fly ! Hit his mark and the pig bolted off . Waiting about 15 minutes and following a quick trail he found his trophy.

The trip came together nicely. His practicing paid off . Matt and Cheryl are terrific hosts and Les did a great job quartering out his pig. My sons already asking to go back. Preferably when it's just a little cooler .lol

Mike and Joe, thanks for coming down from NY to hunt with us at Shiloh Ranch in Oklahoma. We are so proud that Joe not only got his B&W boar but he made an excellent shot which was rewarded by a short recovery. We hope you come back again real soon! Matt and Cheryl
