This is the first Elk I ever killed. He came into a water hole I was sitting on and stopped broadside at about 48 yards. I shot right under him and off he went. A quick cow call with my Primos Ivory plafe call stopped him and he walked back in right to the same exact spot where I had just missed him! This time I had the yardage right and nailed him through both lungs. He ran off but I stopped him at about 100 yards out. I was getting into position to get another shot and he spooked up the mountain. He ran about 450 yards before dying. I found him the next day, but only after the toughest tracking job ever!
