Hiked about 4 miles down a canyon. Crossed a large creek and started back when I spotted the buck with about 5 does. Passed by them and then got parallel as they walked in tandem at 50 yards. Buck turned towards me as I shot, hit him in the middle of the back through the abdominal aorta.
