Went out yesterday and never heard a gobble. This morning I was in a different spot and had 3 birds gobbling from the roost. I left my decoys and some gear in my first spot because I didn't feel like lugging them all the way back to the car and will be going back there saturday. So, I used a full strut mount that I had mounted a few years ago that didn't turn out so well. This $600 'decoy' worked great!! 2 birds came off roost and followed some hens over the hillside. I kept calling and was suprised when I heard a gobble 20 yards away. He came in full strut until he saw my decoy. That's when all hell broke loose. He charged my 'decoy', jumped on its back and knocked it over. Then started stomping. When he paused for a second I sent an arrow his way. First bird with the recurve. 21# with an 11" beard and 1" spurs. Details about jeff davis 's huntHunt DetailsDate Killed - 05/02/2013
