Was 9th day of my New Zealand Safari. Saw a Red Stag crossing a stream and heading down a trail about 200 yards out. I was near a large tree so got behind it as a blind and the Stag kept coming. Had a 20 yard shot to the trail. He passed and took a shot as he passed at a fast walk leading him a little. Hit forward of shoulder in base of neck at mid-body. Stag took off and went down about 175 yards away. Was just over 300 inches and very wide and tall.
