My hunt started mid- afternoon. I hadn't been settled into my tree stand for much more the :30 when I heard leaves crunching behind me as a doe and her fawn walked to me. She passed right under my tree and a big buck was following 15 yards behind her. She walked away from me then turned 90 degrees. But the buck kept going straight away from me. I was a full draw and he stopped, but I had no ethical shot unless he turned a little. Fortunately he did, and I dropped the string. The arrow hit him fairly high up on his left hip and all of the fletching was still visible. He walked quickly for a few yards after being hit, then walked at a slower pace and stopped. A few seconds later, he fell, quickly got back up, then immediately fell again and rolled over the edge of the ridge where he'd been standing. I found him immediately as he lay not ten feet from where I'd last seen him. Details about Kyle Meintzer 's huntHunt DetailsDate Killed - 11/06/2016
