I was sitting above an elk wallow the day before elk season opened and was hoping to catch some elk on video. I could hear elk feeding towards me and a bull bugled twice. I cow called a few times back at them when all of a sudden I heard something above me. I turned and a nice cinnamon bear was 10 yards away. By the time I got my bow ready, it was around 30 yards away and I sent an arrow through its lungs. Of course the bear ran right into the middle of all the elk so I never ended up seeing any of them. It was a tough 3/4-mile pack of about 1000 feet in elevation gain. Details about kraig kerns 's huntHunt DetailsDate Killed - 08/29/2003
