This guy stepped out about 80 yards away and I called him to about 15 yards until the bikes showed up. Moose ran pass me at about 6 yards.

Although I wasn't able to call in these moose, I was able to stalk to within 30 yards by holding them there with the calls. That is until I stepped into a bog hole while walking watching the moose instead of where I was placing my feet.

Beautiful pictures. Have you choosen an outfitter yet? I am in the process of choosing one for a 2010 bow hunt and would like to know what you have found out.

I'll be my outfitter... I'm a registered guide there and still considered a resident of NL as I joined the CF (Canadian Forces/Air Force) while still living there.
I'll be retiring in approx 5 years going back there fulltime to hunt, fish, and guide... The good life...
There are a lot of good outfitters there but there are some bads ones too. Make sure you do your research and make sure you ask questions, make a good question bank and ask them all.
If you do it right you'll have an experience of a lifetime, do it wrong and you'll get burned.
There has been a ton of outfitter related posts here on NL Outfitters. Make sure you take the time to read them all. Best advice I could give anyone going there on a hunting trip is, be good to your guides... :-) (and never never act like a know it all)...

Well it's official, the season is over and I never got a chance to get back home and hunt some of these animals in the pictures. Totally missed the bow season due to jeep troubles. Then work and coaching commitments got in the way for the remainder of the season.
Hopefully I'll draw another tag next year.
