Trying to decide how to get my BC moose mounted. Would like to see some mount pics along with the name/type of form.
Thanks!
NS moose...think it is a MacKenzie mount.
No wall space left! I like the euro's as an alternative however I did have the cape tanned "just in case" :)
This is a left turn semi-sneak. Not sure of the form manufacturer.
This is a right turn semi-sneak.
Another view of the left turn.
Another view of the right turn.
Here they are both together.
I checked the receipt from the taxidermist for the name/number of the form. The only thing noted was right turn, full shoulder............I think it was a McKenzie form.
Sorry I don't have more information.
Traditional facing forward Shrias moose.
Right turn semi sneak. Mckenzie
nice bull....new york bowman!!
Traditional facing forward Shrias moose.
You guys really have some nice Man Rooms there.....
I really like the semi-sneaks. Thanks guys!
After checking there's really not a lot of choices of moose forms........only so much you can do with something that big. :)
Hunterdad, going with the same mount and turn you have. New York - beautiful trophy room. Redoak - love the wood on your wall.
Thanks guys! Will post pics when I get him back.

looking left (very sneaky)
That's great bull Jasper, is that in Canada?
Pack,
Thanks. Yes, British Columbia, south of Ft. Nelson
Shiras moose. My wife has the big one on the left:( Sheesh - I need to learn to hold the camera straight!
Nice mounts guys, and great bull Jasper. Haha Ron that picture makes your house look like a fun house or something with crooked walls!!
I know you've seen the moose, but I thought I would add this photo as it is pretty funny to me. A true "sportsman's" tree. Who else would have a 12' alligator under the tree? :)
Herdbull, I would like to see some more pictures of your room? How high is that ceiling? Mike
Im sure you've chose a pose already, I can't download a photo on my phone to the site. However I feel that the sneak poses are much more natural then the upright whitetail looking poses. More often then not a moose natural has it's head down slightly, not even sneaking but that it the way they get around. The head up kinda makes them like a horse rather then a mean old bull it really is.
Terry If I had a 12' alligator it would be displayed like yours!

Here's one of my top four moose taken north of Thunder Bay, Ontario. The wife won't let me put it on the wall, I holding out for a bigger one to do full hear mount, I have seen bigger too, in the area I hunt.
Curtis just got his moose mount home .
www.pinkmountainoutfitters.com
A great team effort with his wife holding/aiming and Curtis firing using his mouth .
We had to cut form down to fit in my old house, this way it wasn't over powering in the room.
Awesome mounts everyone. One question - how the heck do you get those monsters through the front door??
On my moose mount i had the antlers pinned so i can remove them. Alot easier to transport and place in your home.
Some of those monsters never came through the front door, the house was built around them.
Mike Turner- I missed this back in Dec. My walls are 18 feet with a catherdral celling so it peaks at 23 feet. I have a loft over as well. Here I am in the loft, so you can get right up next to the moose mounts. Mike
Mike, lets see some more pictures of your room. Looks very cool, thanks! Mike T
Agreed. Mike, please show the moose from another angle (as well ss the other part of the room).
Thanks!
I"m with Mike on Mike's trophy mounts. Mike N

Here's a pedestal I did for a client. I did a how to thread if interested in the steps it took. I'll attach the link.

Trophy room not complete but here is the BC Moose from 2011. My Wyoming moose is on its way too. JJ
Some fine mounts here! Patiently waiting for my 2012 New Hampshire bull. Taxidermist told me it will be done in May.
Here are a few more pics of my moose and the room at Mike T and others request. Mike
Mike: Thanks for sharing. It appears you have a few too many whitetails:))
Are you going to Dallas??
Charlie. Yes , I'm kind of passionate about whitetails, but love hunting moose as well. I'm sorry to miss the P&Y banquet this year.
Great pictures and animals Mike. Congrats, and thanks for sharing. I'm heading on my first moose hunt this fall and can't seem to get enough of looking at pictures of them! I love this thread as well as the broadhead survey thread.
Mike....looks great....and you still have a lot of empty wall space to fill....gotta love high ceilings
Whoa, some outstanding animals and mounts...
Mertyman- Our Primal Dreams DVD has some huge live moose in it to get you pumped.
Great, thanks! I'll have to check it out. I just picked up a moose DVD the other day and haven't watched it yet, but can't remember if that's the one or not. If not, I'll have to track this one down.
Thanks again.
Jimbo , nice mount but I think you will find that being next to the window your hide will get bleeched out from the sun over time.
This is my hunting partner's moose from 2012. Ended up being the top archery moose in the province of Manitoba for 2012 and is listed at #10 overall for the province. Not sure what the form is called.
Mike, I'd like to know more about the doe mount?I know there's a great story behind that one.
4406v- The the redish haired animal is a female nilgai. I do my own taxidery. I have it on the wall next to my bull nilgai. Both were tacken with recurve bows on the King Ranch in Texas. I was in a live oak tree when it came up and turned to look back. After the shot, it blew out of there leaving little blood because they run so fast and so far. I did find her though. Any nilgai with a bow is a special moment, so I fabricated a form for her since I could not find one in any taxidery catalog. They are great eating and a good challenge. Mike
takes up a lot of room and cost a mint, but it was worth it.
Bou'bound. Excellent! Do you have UV blocking film on your sky-lights. Some of my head mounts have faded due to excess sun light.
Thanks Mike, After a second closer look I see the mane down the back of the neck.
I thought I was going to hear a great story about a trophy doe (I have one mounted myself) A trophy nilgai taken with a recurve even better!!! Nice mounts, great trophy room, even better video's.
Herdbull. Excellent trophies! You mentioned fading due to UV rays. You may want to check out www.windowtint.com. I would recommend the darkest product. We used the 85% with excellent results but wish we would have gone darker. They are easy to install. After making a pattern, you can use your taxidermy scalpel to cut the film with great accuracy. PM me if you wish.
My MT moose just got in today... I haven't figured out where to hang it yet!! haha It might have to stay on the crate for a few days until we can figure something out.
Wife loves it but isn't too happy about how big it is. :) Says we will have to get a bigger house.
:(
CD
It turned out great Chad! Good luck getting it inside....and the buffalo.
Funny, my wife said the same thing when I brought home 2 caribou. Now that we have a different house, she said go get a moose. Go figure!
"Wife loves it but isn't too happy about how big it is."
Some guys would not see that as an issue, frankly. of course neither would some wives.
Cool mount. Haven't seen posturing before.
I thought it was pretty cool. My taxi came up with the idea and did some customizing to the mount.. He did a pretty awesome job.
Great pictures and trophies. Cubbies, what a neat idea for your moose. Care to tell us about your African hunt?
I haven't gone on an African hunt yet. I'm heading to NZ in April for stag and tahr.
cubbies... I am more interested in how you got a full size giraffe in your living room ;-)
Cool mount. Haven't seen posturing before.
Just realized even though I was the OP I never posted a pic of my mounted bull. Only took me a year and a half......:)
PA- Ha!! That totally went over my head! What's funny, I was even laughing at the photo when I posted it because of the giraffe. The kid shot that one!
Heres my my first Bull 2012
Here is my 2013 bull and my buddies were mad i did not do a full mount but I like the european, easier to clean! And I dont do the dusting! lol This one was 54" and now i will need a bigger fireplace!!! hee hee
I love the European moose mount over the mantle. I saw Randy Ulmer's moose done that way on my "Hoyt in the House" DVD that came with my last bow. I have been a fan ever since. Your guys' look fantastic as well.
Cool mounts. I was on a moose hunt last week and a few local boys took a bull with a drop tine on one side and a drop club at the back on the other! Gotta be rare in moose. Havent ever seen a moose rack with double drops before.
