Pretty cool.... don't believe I've ever seen a human pack string.... =D
I noticed that too Bruce.... I'm guessing it was for lowering him down the mountain by his handle or hanging on a tree when you want to rest and not take the pack off... or packing out another packers pack who couldn't pack.... heheheheh...
