Someone book this prime time hunt!
Unfortunately this was the best we could do for this specific hunt. I also can remember another thread basically complaining that these type of opportunities even come up and that it's not fair to the guy that booked at full price. I noticed that the other thread started just after a specific comment made on here. Anyways it is what it is.
I am sure if a person looks hard enough they can find the deal of a lifetime. More power to ya. Good luck to you all this year.

That said.........250 is not material for someone who does not see the value to start with. hey if it's worth 5250 it's worth 5500 and it's worth every bit of 5500.
I just thought the nominal discount was not particularly newsworthy. better than nothing, heck, 5450 would be better than 5500, but in the world of discounts that is not the deciding factor on being a taker or not for the hunt. i will bet someone has gobbled that up. the 10 days is the real selling point.
scott i would be interested in learning more about that for a possible 2016 hunt.
What area in Alberta is your guy operating in?
In my experience, many Alberta moose outfitters are hunting the same type of rather accessible crown land that is crisscrossed every section with oil exploration cuts. All good moose country for sure, but the pressure seems to be heavier, especially during the rut, than many bowhunters would be comfortable with. With a 30-40" bull being considered a target, it is a safe assumption that he is hunting these pressured areas as well
Your guy may be doing something different.
I too am interested in a good moose hunt for '16, but would be willing to spring for the extra coin to hunt with a guy who has a program that gets his hunters beyond the reach of local pressure.
$5500 is a great price for a good moose hunt.
For me, the main draw of a moose hunt is being in remote, untouched wilderness. No quads, Argos, maybe a small, outboard on a raft or canoe.
I also believe those ingredients about double the price of the above hunt if a guide is still involved.
Thanks for posting this offer, Scott. Not poopooing it in any way. Great hunt for the right guy.

Last year this outfit had 2 rifle hunters take bulls in the 50" class. Also this is a very small outfit. He hunts in a 100 mile square area and only takes 4 bowhunters and 2 rifle hunters max per year. The references and results speak for themselves. I would be happy to supply them to any serious inquiry.
He operates in central Alberta and is definitely doing something different and consistently produces shots on good bulls.
As for the remote wilderness experience this is not it. I also work with a guy in Alberta and Saskatchewan both who does remote fly in hunts but these are between $8,000 - $10,000. This is primarily due to logistics. That being said he also takes some very impressive bulls.
Good luck in your search for the right outfit. I am already getting Moose fever for my guys hunting for Northern palms this year.
