I will be at archery hunting for moose in Vermont this year & just wanted feed back on my set up! I will be using a PSE Evo @ 70lb. I have chosen Easton FMJ's tipped with a 225 grain Slick Trick ViperTrick! They shoot like field points... Just wondering if any of you guys have used this combo or anything similar??? Total arrow weight will be around 450-460 grains.

No problem but the ST's are 125.

You're good to go. I think you meant 125 gr slick trick. I've used a 70# Mathews, 55/80 carbon tech rhino and a 125 gr Magnus stinger Buzzcut. Didn't get a complete pass thru but I think I would have if I didn't hit the far front leg bone

The broadheads are 125 grain vipertricks made by slick trick. Not 225!

I'll be using the viper tricks on a similar weight arrow for moose in Wyoming in October from a 65# Elite hunter. Hopefully we will both be posting trophy pics in a few months! Good luck on your hunt!

My moose arrow was 467 grns with a 3 blade VPA. 68 lb bow. Full pass through at 33 yds. You have no worries. Put it in the right spot and you're good to go.

Oh no worries, I was just letting you know that I also drew a non res vermont tag, just wanted to see if you were planning on a DIY trip or how you were approaching your hunt. Did you draw an archery only tag or regular season? What zone, I am in E1 archery season. Best of luck either way, keep in touch or try sending me a PM. Best Regards, Nick

Excellent to very good I'd say. If I do my part 4-6" groups at 60 yards, with broadheads.

If I can shoot clean througb one twice with a homemade recurve shooting a 498-grain arrow 194 fps, you should have no problems.
