Interesting you should ask. We were planning on spending a couple days there next July. I would like some feedback as well.

Wonderful place for a day trip if you are bringing family that does not hunt, so they can see the animals you are hunting from the car.

I enjoyed Kruger much more as it is much bigger. It seemed that Pilanesberg was more like driving through the wild animal park in San Diego. If you only have a day or two, it is a great option though.

I just spent a night there in August. We stayed at the Ivory tree Game lodge first class all the way. Saw Leopard, Lion, Elephant, Rhino, Hippos, & most of the plains game. Bring warm clothes for the evening game drive & early morning game drive.

Never been to Pilanesburg National Park S.A. but did go to Kruger NP. Got to see cape buff, elephant, croc and hippo along with hundreds of plains game animals. Get off the main roads and travel the side roads and stay close to water. The water was the key to seeing the animals.
If you decide to go to Kruger, I would recommend 2-3 days to really see the park. It is around 5x the size of Yellowstone. We traveled the northern part- to see lion and rhino one must travel the southern part of the park. Much different ecosystem.

I recommend a visit if you will be there. Just as long as you don't lose any hunting time

Thanks for the feedback everyone, and for the pics meanmachine. Headed to Limcroma In August for 7 days. My wife is coming along, so, I thought we might spend a couple of days at one of the lodges in the park, and see the sights.
