Courtney Boots

On a whim I picked up a pair of Courntey Selous "Safari" boots with the gripper soles in Pretoria last weekend and I was curious if any Bowsiters have used them and what they think. I'm guessing they are fine for mostly flat country typical of Africa, but do not have enough support for continuous mountainous, rocky terrain. They appear to be the favorite boot brand worn by African PHs, so that must count for something. Mine are made from Cape Buff leather while my buddy bought the elephant leather "Selous" model. Is there a noticeable difference?
