Ok, now I'm jealous! Those zebra just never come all the way in while I'm in the blind. Can be one of the toughest to arrow because they're so dang cautious.

Hahaha Rich, always a reason to come back for!!

Congrats Jim on your first Kudu. You're right, Gemsbok are not so easy to have come in, but so far lady luck has been kind to you. Keep the good Karma flowing and it will happen. It's been six in six days so far, counting monkeys and momentum is on your side.

Of the various animals taken so far, have you eaten some meat from each one of them? If so, please rank them...what was your personal favorite? Least favorite? Does your wife agree with your ranking, or did she have different favorites?

From: AZ~Rich
14-Sep-14
I would imagine Jim will rank his Impala/Kudu near the top, Blue wildebeest in the middle and Waterbuck and Zebra at the lower end. Not sure if anyone eats Baboon, I know I would not want to. :)

I know my top African favorites include: springbok, impala, gemsbok, nyala, bushbuck, kudu, eland and Cape buffalo.

I know where we were with Limcroma last month they donated most of the zebras shot to the locals. Something about that yellow fat tainting the meat if not completely removed. All the spiral horns we ate plus gemsbok were simply amazing. One well traveled CEO hunter in our group commented that it was the best meat he's ever had anywhere. I would concur.

Just finished our game supper. Kudu was both our favorite. Water buck and wildebeest was second zebra next and impala was great but a little more gamey. My wife eat it all and loved it which surprises me, she very picky.

From: AZ~Rich
14-Sep-14
Cool Jim! Not sure why the impala was gamey. All four that we shot and ate were among some of the best.

Now you have to get that gemsbok to taste.

Have you seen any bushbuck in your area yet? I assume you hunting the bushvelt property.

Great Job Jim , love the zebra. I like the zebra the best to eat. or donkey as Reon calls them. all the game is good to eat. Forrest
