Limcroma Bow Hunting Highlights

We are a month into our 2016 season, and our hunters have taken some great trophies already. We look forward to hosting quite a few Bowsite members in 2016.
It's not too early to begin planning for the 2017 season. For our bow hunting guests, the prime months to plan for are May-September. The kudu and impala rut is in full swing in May, and the dry months of June- September have the animals on their feet all day seeking out the water & salt.
The sheer size of our ranches and abundance of game provide for solid hunting throughout the season. Still, the weeks of the dark moon are always preferred by our most dedicated hunters and they fill up first each season. The dark moon phases for 2017 are May 25, June 24, July, 23, August 21, and September 20. Please send me a PM or email anytime for more details.
Here are a few more fantastic trophies that were taken by our bow hunting guests in the past season:
Old dugga boy cape buffalo
More species and trophies to come.... There are over 40 species to hunt in the Limpopo Province. Great nyala bull.
Those are some great looking animals !
Looks like the season is off to a great start! The impala has very nice tips.
Very nice. Would you please identify the animals in the photos. Thanks

The first one is a Sable. In fact, it looks very similar to the Sable I passed on in 2015 at Limcroma.....reluctantly;>)
Awesome trophies...I will be there on June 30th...can't wait, getting close now.
t-roy, did YOU pass on the Sable, or did your WALLET pass on the Sable?! Too bad those are so crazy expensive compared to all the other plains game.
I"m going next year for Sable... (finally). I just can't stand to not have one of those beauties in my cave! What's your guess on length? I'm guessing 38"
Stick
The wallet AND the wife! She said if I shot a Sable, she would get a new diamond. Didn't seem like a fair trade to me!
I told Johan, my PH, if a big Sable came in, to take my bow & no matter what I told him, not to give it back to me until the Sable left! Of course this guy came in & gave me practically every shot angle imaginable.
To me they are probably the prettiest of all the plains game animals.
Wow can't wait to get there, come on Sept 1.
A few more bow hunting highlights from Limcroma hunters....
I'll conclude with my own warthog & brown hyena from my last trip. I posted these photos previously in my hunting report, but I'm so proud of them, I'm including them again in the highlights. Give me a shout... It's time to start picking prime dates for 2017.
Wow! Impressive pictures FHF. I'm interested in bow hunting for some of the atypical African critters like varmints and predators on my hunt. Do you all do much of that?
Swatmedic, I sent you a PM, and to answer your question, absolutely yes! We do lots of hunting for the many small predators, varmints and unusual African animals that can be found all over our region of the Limpopo.
Predator hunting in particular for the many small cats, jackals, baboons, etc., is one of my favorite things to do while in Africa. Often, these types of animals are a chance encounter while out plainsgame hunting. However, we routinely set up our guests on baits, callers, or night drives targeting the unusual African trophies. Bow hunting for them can be a challenge, but definitely a lot of fun if you are willing to put in the time and effort.
Check out my small-spotted genet cat and brown hyena in the pics above, and here are a few more examples of the many uncommon trophies that you may encounter.
Warthog & Bush Pig night time double
Great pictures Dan. I need to get back over there one day.
Way cool Dan! Next trip over I will definitely try and target some of the nighttime critters! There definitely WILL be a next trip too!
Any frontal pics of the warthog/bush pig? Looks like the warthog has extremely heavy tusks.
T-roy,
That is the only pic that Hannes sent me of the bush pig. The warthog was massive! Huge body and heavy tusks, but not really long. The warthog also came into bait at night just after dark.
Those Cats are Awesome!!! Thank you for sharing!
Scar.
I love the small critters. Next trip over, I'm going to dedicate more time to getting a couple of those. Cool pics FHF.
Very cool! Really looking forward to next year!
These are some neat trophies. Congrats
I'm so looking forward to our trip there in August! I think I reached the end of the internet looking at South African bow hunting videos!
Bushpig is high on my list when I get to go. I am planning on an extra week, just chasing the night critters. A Baboon is a MUST also! Great animals.
