Seems some crazy AntiHunting group has chosen me to be their next victim! Their tactic is to go after my Business instead of attacking me personally. They rate my Business one star and engage those who have rated me higher. I'm fortunate enough to live in a Community that (for the most part) either embraces my hunting or is okay with it. Facebook has been very slow to react or deleat their posts/ratings.
To whoever is posting on my business page bad reviews and my personal hunting pictures trying to hurt me. Let me first applaud you for your desire to help Wildlife, that we have in common. I have never hidden the fact that I am a hunter, not ashamed of it and in fact it's more than a hobby. Along with the privilege of being able to hunt the majestic animals I am fortunate enough to be able to comes a responsibility of sustainability of not only the species but the habitat as well. For this hunters pay the lions share trough taxes, permits, fees and donations. Legal hunting has done more to preserve wildlife and habitat than all anti-hunting organizations combined by FAR. I do understand most anti-hunters operate on emotions and hunting as a way to conserve species is not fitting the agenda, doesn't change the fact that it works. If you want to discuss/debate the issue, I'm here. If you want to attack me, again I'm here. Being a "Social Justice Facebook Warrior" is valueless, yours truly Tim Metcalf!!

Great response Bigpizzaman. Hang in there. These spineless social engineers don't even understand what conservation is or how to protect wildlife. I bet they haven't even spent a dollar to help sustain wildlife on the planet they think they are protecting. Clueless nut cases. Well done on your response.
Some people! They just don't understand that animals thrive because of hunters and fisherman dollars spent on gear and licenses.
My question to this person or persons is why aren't they making a big to do about the calf bison just recently euthanized in Yellowstone. What aren't they attacking the park service.

Stay the course and stay level headed in your responses throughout this attack. You are the good guy and if you do that, you'll be the winner in the eyes of the on looking public that doesn't hunt.

What's funny is that these same idiots who claim to love animals actually do very little to help them. I always take the opportunity to debate antis whenever I can and they always walk away pissed off because their argument is wrong and can't be proved factually, all they have is the feel good argument. Funny how these antis would kill humans if able to protect some animal that was put on this earth to provide for human consumption lol.

BPM, antis always assume they are engaging with uneducated, stupid rednecks when they take on hunters. While you will be unlikely to change their minds, everyone else watching/ reading/ listening will be impressed and swayed by your calm, reasonable articulate argument. I've learned to speak more softly and a bit slower when debating these types.
Keep up what you're doing, and always remember that there is absolutely no way that their passion for their side can match your passion and dedication to yours.
That's too bad but you handled it well. Continue to do so as engaging them in a negative way is what they are after. Taking the high road is hardly ever the wrong thing to do. Unfortunately you may not change their minds, but are likely to have a positive effect on many who are on the fence, most who won't likely even contribute to the thread. Furthermose, I am no attorney, but since she is publicly attacking your livelihood with inaccurate information, I would think that she is exposing herself to a legal challenge from you for libel, possibly slander, possibly both......
If nothing else, it should be worth an apology and a retraction....

It seems to be the same people over and over. Trust me, after reading everyone's responses, the attackers look like hateful idiots. Lost on facts and emotional charged. You have handled it well in your responses. Everything that needs to be said has been said.

Well handled Tim. I have a mole in my facebook right now that went through and reported 147 photos as containing graphic violence last week. Plugged up my feed and my e-mail. Facebook didn't take any down, but what a huge pain in the ass. I have my account set to private, so only friends can see it, so I have to go through my "friends" list and root them out.

Well, I'm not exactly pizza's biggest fan, but people attacking someone's livelihood for personal reasons is pretty damn low IMO. I think you handled it correctly, but it's hard to talk common sense to those that are bereft of it. The haters ( of people different than themseves ) act not from their brains, but from their " feelings ". They are narrow minded, bigoted asses whose heads have been stuffed with liberal crap for years.

Given you are in LA, is this sort of "backlash" good for business? Lord, I hope so because if we lose sentiment and reason in places like that, all is lost.

Thanks Again! Seems the Facebook page, "Stop Safari Hunters" is down, they had MANY death threats and attempts to sabotage my Business posted there. Many of the more violent "Ratings" of my Business have been taken off but several are still there.
My friends and customers in the area have been VERY supportive, as have you guys! Only one of these "Keyboard Cowards" dared to engage me personally, I asked if she would care to rationally discuss the matter, well I said I planned on hunting Switzerland (where she's from) and would stop by for Tea and a discussion! She threatened to POISON me! LOL
Yes the Rhino was Darted and Chipped to PREVENT POACHNG! If any of you guys come my way, hit me up we'll have Pizza, Beer and Talk! As far as rating my Restaurant, I'd prefer to keep it "REAL" I'm proud of my product and if I'm on point it speaks for itself!

I did my part, but there isn't any getting through to them. I almost offered "FiFi LaRue" to come down to the pizza place and I'd buy her a few pizzas of her choice so she could review the food quality, wait staff and restaurants appearance, instead of just attacking good ol' BPM. You know if they would actually focus on something like rhino poaching (something hunters agree is out of control) maybe "enemies" could work together toward a common goal. But that's waaaaaaaay too much to ask.

Pete, well over half of my Facebook contacts are through hunting, I think We've had this conversation on Bowsite before. My pictures are tasteful and well received, I will not allow some Anti's to change my lifestyle! Geeze in an Age when Men are allowed into a Women's restroom, where's a hunters rights??
I don't do facebook, and probably never will, but I do wonder about putting pictures of things you kill out there where so many oddball people can see them.

I did post a story of my Rhino hunt on my personal page as the Anti's had some strange "facts" up there. How I "killed" it just for the trophy and he suffered for hours and other BS. Strange thing it was a "Green" hunt, was chipped to prevent being Poached.
None of these Anti's will get on my personal page for discussion, I offered to stop in at ones house for tea and conversation, she said she would poison me. And I'm the cold-blooded killer???

I have decided to share this thread with my high school classes.
BPM you should be happy to know it was a very interesting conversation on the last day of school with my students.
It was a critical thinking exercise and focused on our own assumptions and judgements. I started off by just showing your Rhino picture and asked the students to write what the picture made them feel and think.
Then I shared an antis comments, both and asked for response. some agreed and felt validated, others were angry and upset.
After the entire process, I asked them to share a few final thoughts and take sways. Over 90% of the class now supports legal hunting, a couple students did not like it at all but understood the paradigm and felt frustrated and stuck, and only one student still hated hunting with everything they had. However they acted frustrated and could not support anything with real facts other than feelings. It was interesting, provocative etc.
PS when I showed the very first picture over 90% had a negative reaction (even in a town where hunting is a big deal and our school has a trophy photos page in the yearbook).
Rob, Thanks! I've never posted the Rhino picture without the story for that reason and when folks see my Mancave I make sure to tell the first thing the Rhino is a fiberglass replaca . But people will see and make of it what they want. Thanks for sharing with your class!
Good Work Tim It is incredible how many people just post some comments without knowing that hunting is helping to increase the game. People need to understand, read and talk with export before just trough some comments in Facebook It is sad, but we must stay together and try to educate them.
I have fun with these folks on the Yellowstone FB page - the animals rights group gets an email blast they come in and spew their ignorant rhetoric and I have fun challenging them with the YNP social team supporting my points.
The good news is that we have found FB to have little impact on actual sales - it's mainly an awareness driver which is still important but it will have minimal impact on your business.

I have a good friend of mine that was posting the animals he had taken on FB... (He is a business owner as well). He eventually shut down his page because it started to effect his business... It's a terrible shame that we as sportsmen almost have to hide what we due because of persecution, but the liberals can run rampant and it's protected. Just doesn't make any sense! I had some fun engaging a few of the commenters. Not that it's any surprise, but they really are clueless (and they think the same of us). My favorite had to be when I pressed them to provide scientific evidence that said hunting is bad for wildlife. They responded by saying Stephen Hawking signed a petition against hunting and then sited an article in Psychology Today from an animal emotions expert. You can't make this stuff up. I responded by saying I'm glad we leave wildlife management up to biologists and not astrophysicists and psychologists.

Sucks that this is even an issue. Might mention to them that with their hissy fit over Cecil, that area in Zimbabwe is hurting for income as there are no replacements for the money spent by hunters whoare staying away in droves. Lack of hunting as a management tool, the park now has to PAY people to reduce the lion numbers by around 200. The lions are eating themselves out of house and home. Decimating other species that really are on the edge like cheetahs. Yet somehow they seem to be OK with all that....
These people are dumber than a fence. I've had folks look at some of my trophy pics and ask how did I get them to hold still like that....
